Arc II - Many Firsts [Chapter 2: Dates]

As if she had seen me smiling!

Fortune teller Nunnally: *turns serious again*, "But remember my words! And now leave. The time has come. You have a long way to go, young sir."

I get up from my chair, "Thank you, lady Nunnally.", then I bow politely, "All the best."

Fortune teller Nunnally: *bows head respectfully*

With that, I turn around and leave the tent together with Tamamushi, who has been waiting quietly and patiently the whole time.

I have no regrets about giving it a try. Especially as the fortune teller Nunnally was authentic and did a very good performance.

[Same evening, in front of the side entrance leading to the U.A. dorm area]

Tamamushi and I come to a halt right in front of the secured side entrance that leads directly to the U.A. dorms.

"Thanks for bringing me, Tamamushi.", I say with a half-dreamy look on my face.

Tamamushi: "You're welcome.", *smiles*

"I really enjoyed our double date.", I say as I fumble with the zipper of my coat, getting rosy cheeks.

Tamamushi: "Yes, I did too. A lot."

Even though I couldn't quite shake the encounter with Lady Nunnally and especially her words for the rest of our time at the mall, I still had a lot of fun with the others. We were able to see everything the event had to offer until we had our fill, and even participated in some of the competitions. For example, Shin won the main prize, a large black-white plush teddy bear, on the wheel of fortune which he gave to Kotatsu. Besides, Tamamushi and I got second place in a love puzzle competition, where the prize was an online gift voucher for the mall. So, despite one or two clumsy situations, the double date truly was a success.

However, now that we stand silently together, we are unsure of what to say or do for a short while. Tamamushi is the one to take the initiative, and steps close to me. My heart immediately starts beating faster. I must lift my chin slightly to be able to look him in the face. Our eyes meet. Then he moves his hand to my now fully flushed cheek. I can't help but notice his eyes travel to my lips, appearing darker with anticipation. Will he kiss me?

I try to swallow down the lump of nervousness but fail.

Tamamushi: "Midoriya, may I kiss you?"

His question makes my heart flutter even though I almost expected it. Automatically, my own gaze wanders to his lips and I get the urge to have them on mine. I feel that this moment is right. That, after today and right now, I'm ready to share this experience with him. Although I'm terribly nervous, now is an appropriate occasion to let it happen. I don't think I can be any more ready than I am right now.

I breathe out shakily in order to be able to answer him at all. "Y-yes.", I say in a quiet, shy voice.

Without further hesitation, he puts his other hand at my side and brings our bodies even closer together while his other hand gently caresses my cheek. Then he lowers his mouth to mine, which is already waiting for him. As our lips touch tenderly, I think my heart stops. The butterflies in my stomach go crazy simultaneously. Our kiss is relatively short and simple, but no less lovely and tingling.

The moment comes to an end and Tamamushi takes a step back.

Tamamushi: "Wow.", *whispers*

My tomato mode is activated, "I'd b-better g-go in now."

Instantly, I turn around and take the last step to the security panel by the door.

Tamamushi: *chuckles*, "Yeah, it's getting late."
