You joined the rhythm, sliding forward on a rushing current you summoned at your feet. With every spin of your body, whips of water lashed toward Nine, harrying his vision and opening gaps in his defense. You created pressure, distraction, and restraint—everything to help your boys land their hits.
But Nine wasn’t slowing. Enraged now, he released a barrage of air blades, slicing through the air toward all three of you. The sky cracked with pressure.
“Midoriya, duck!” you cried. You twisted your arms up and raised a thick dome of water in front of him. The impact hammered your entire frame as the blades collided with your shield. Steam hissed around you as water vaporized from the friction, the shield holding just long enough for Izuku to dash past.
“You okay?” Izuku asked quickly, concern flickering in his eyes.
You nodded, breath short. “Yeah. Just keep pushing!”
Then came the tremor. Nine’s next move—an enormous compressed blast of wind—was aimed straight at you.
“Move!” Katsuki shouted, blasting toward you. In a blink, he yanked you out of the blast’s path with a deafening explosion, launching both of you clear. You hit the ground hard but rolled with the momentum, body bruised but functional. Katsuki landed in front of you, arms wide, shielding you from the second wave with a defiant growl.
“Don’t slow down now!” he snapped, teeth gritted. “We’ve still got a job to finish!”
Your blood boiled with adrenaline. You stood quickly, a vortex of water churning at your heels. You pushed both hands outward, lifting yourself on a spiraling current that launched you into the air like a cannon.
“Let’s do this together,” you growled.
With perfect timing, you released a spiraling torrent of water toward Nine, while Izuku charged from the left, Katsuki from the right. Your water surged around Nine’s legs like an enraged serpent, locking him in place for just a heartbeat—long enough.
Izuku leapt, punching straight through the barrier with the power of One For All. The air shattered with the impact. At the same moment, Katsuki struck from above, his gauntlets flaring. “AP SHOT—AUTOCANNON!” he screamed, blasting Nine from point blank range.
The villain was hurled backward into a pile of rubble, debris collapsing over him in a thunderous crash.
You panted hard, your limbs trembling from exertion, your lungs burning. But it wasn’t over.
From the shadows, a new figure appeared—Slice. Her blades shimmered in the dim light, her presence coiling around the battlefield like smoke. You instinctively stepped forward, chest heaving, planting yourself between her and your injured friends.
“Stay back!” you yelled, water rising behind you in a silent warning.
Nine groaned, pushing rubble off himself. “Slice… finally.”
Her gaze swept the field. “This is a waste of time,” she muttered, her voice like ice. “We need to withdraw.”
Her eyes locked onto Katsuma, who was trembling behind a rock. “You’re coming with me, kid.”
“No!” you shouted, heart seizing. You launched forward, water snaking out to form a protective wall, but Koji’s voice rang out just in time.
“Anivoice, come!" Koji shouted, his voice ringing with authority as he activated his Quirk. A swarm of crows erupted from the trees, flying straight toward Slice and Nine, the flurry of wings blinding and disorienting the villains.
"Get back!" Tsuyu cried, moving swiftly as she leapt into action, grabbing Katsuma's arm to pull him back. "We need to get everyone out of here!"
You could see Mezo and Ochaco quickly making their way toward Izuku and Katsuki. "We can't let them fight alone!" Ochaco exclaimed, her determination shining through as she reached out to help the injured boys.
"Tsuyu! I need you to help me lift them!" Mezo said, moving to support Izuku while Ochaco did her best to help Katsuki to his feet. "We can't leave them behind!"
"On it!" Tsuyu replied, her voice steady as she helped lift the two boys.
With the crows creating a chaotic distraction, you felt a surge of relief as you snapped into motion again. “Let’s go! We need to regroup!” you shouted, scooping Katsuma under one arm and using a water cushion to help guide your path as you moved quickly alongside your classmates.
Nine roared in frustration as he tried to swat the crows away, his focus wavering. "Slice! Get them!" he barked, but the villainess stood her ground, her gaze unreadable.
"Chasing them is futile," she replied, her voice calm, eerie in its stillness. "They can't leave the island, not now. You need to focus on recovering."
You didn’t slow. You guided the others toward the tree line, your senses on high alert, checking every movement behind you. Every second counted.
“We have to get to safety!” you urged, your heart racing. “Everyone, follow my lead!”
As you maneuvered through the chaos, you risked a glance back at Slice, who raised her flare gun and fired. The red light shot into the sky, illuminating the battlefield.
"We’re withdrawing," she declared.
Nine cursed under his breath, clearly wanting more bloodshed. “You’re retreating? What about the kids?”
“They’ll be safe,” Slice assured him. “Your condition is worsening. It’s time to regroup and strategize. We can’t afford any more losses.”
As the flare lit up the night sky, painting everything in shades of crimson, you felt something stir deep within you. Not just fear or exhaustion—but hope. A wild, burning resolve.
“We need to move—now!” you shouted, guiding Katsuma and the others as Mezo, Tsuyu, and Ochaco supported the injured boys, every movement urgent but steady. With adrenaline surging through your veins, you raised your hands and summoned a powerful wave, cradling your group within a protective sphere of water as it carried you swiftly down the slope.
Your classmates held their ground beside you—bruised, bloodied, and breathless, yet unyielding. You kept the watery shield intact until you reached the shelter of the trees. Only then did you drop to one knee, lungs burning as you fought to catch your breath.
With one final burst of determination, you and your friends pushed forward into the darkness—backs to one another, hearts aligned, a single force refusing to fall.
