Chapter 3: The return part 2

"He'll get his karma, I'm suspecting he already did." He said looking once last time at the board before staring at phoebe.

Phoebe, now really awkward, turned around to get her phone when there was heaps of messages from her other kook friends. "What the hell..?" Phoebe says scrolling through the messages.

"What's wrong?" Atticus asked unfazed. Phoebe then read the messages;

Text messages with Phoebe Cameron and George's ex Megan:

Megan: Phoebe! Answer your damn phone! Did you hear what happened to George?

Phoebe: I don't care, we broke up. He's a cheater. If he's sleeping with other girls I wouldn't be surprised.

Megan: No! He got murdered!

Phoebe: What? What are you talking about Megan? He's dead? How?"

Megan: The police found his body...he was butchered!

Phoebe: Omg...how did this happen?

Megan: Apparently it happened during the party for Rafe and Hannah's engagement. After the party, some of us wanted to swim In the lake for the after party when we found his body, butchered. The police are going to be investigating, and the worst part was that he looked like he was strangled too.

Phoebe: That's horrible? Who could do this? Why would they do this?

Megan: I don't know..but I'll keep in touch in I find out more.

Phoebe: yes thank you.

*End of text messages*

Phoebe then looked at Atticus who was sitting there nonchalantly. "George is dead." She said in shock. Atticus then stood up, thinking to himself; how the fuck did they find out?"

Atticus then showed a fake, but convincing face full of remorse. "What? Who could do that?"

Phoebe shrugged. "I don't know...but the police are going to be investigating..."

Atticus raised a brow. "Right, of course they are." Phoebe then heard car sirens, and ran outside. "No, wait Phoebe-" Atticus says, but she's already out there. When phoebe got outside, The police came. They exited their car, and then they saw The whole Cameron family outside with Atticus, confused. Ward then approached the police, he seemed very nervous for some reason. Perhaps, something else happened that they didn't know Phoebe assumed.

"Can I help you officers?" Ward said with a fake smile, eager to get rid of the cops. Atticus then looked nervously at the officers but was trying to not make it seem obvious.

But The officers couldn't see his facial expression due to how dark it was. "We are here to talk to Phoebe Cameron." The police officer said firmly. Phoebe then looked at her dad in confusion.

"Why do you need to talk to me?" Phoebe said.

The police officer realised that she was talking to Phoebe and then explained. "Because, you were dating George Dickson correct?"

Phoebe nodded. "Not anymore."

The police officer looked at her suspiciously. "What does that have to do with anything?" Rose asked.

"George Dickson is dead. He was murdered by someone at that party you hosted tonight." Rose then looked shocked.

"I need phoebe to come down to the station tomorrow to ask her some questions about the victim."
