You walked through the door and scanned the hall only to suddenly stop in your tracks as you saw two very familiar figures sitting down on one of the many tables.

"E-eren? Mikasa?"

Your heart pounded, your eyes getting irritated as they turned red, tears forming. Your skin turned pale as you looked like you've seen a ghost, your breathing hitched as you found it difficult to breathe. It was almost as though you were being suffocated by the pure intensity of the emotions that were racking through your mind, heart and body.

'Is it really you?' You thought in disbelief.

The two who had surprisingly heard your call turned back clearly confused at the situation but when they locked eyes with you the three of you suddenly froze as you looked at one another in shock. Eren took a step forward bit by bit scanning your figure from top to bottom as he extended his hand in front of him, trying to confirm that it was really you who was standing there in front of him.

His precious younger sister. The same one that he had thought he had lost along side his mother and father that day.

You let him touch your face as you leaned against his hand, reaching your own hand to lay on top of his. You closed your eyes, tears silently falling down and creating tracks as they trickled down your cheeks. Eren's eyes were similarly bloodshot tears falling as well.

He pulled you into his embrace, burying his head in the crook of your neck. You wrapped your arms around him as you both let out your tears.

Soon he let go of you, smiling as he let out a raspy and broken, "Hey."

After exchanging greetings, you turned to Mikasa who had been patiently waiting for the two of you to stop crying, smiled at you, spreading open her arms in silent invitation. You smiled and pulled her into a hug, gripping each other tightly.

Tearing yourself away, you smiled and joked that you three should probably get on with supper before Instructor Shadis would come hunting after you. The three of you talked as you queued up discussing all sorts of thing that ranged from what had actually happened to each of you after the fall of Shiganshina to the little and insignificant things such as what you had for breakfast yesterday.

Grabbing a tray of food with Eren taking an extra portion for a reason unknown to you, you followed behind him as you headed towards one of the wooden tables in the hall. Upon arriving at the table you couldn't help but notice a familiar figure with a blonde bob cut. The male had a rather feminine outlook and you couldn't help but feel that you knew him from somewhere.

Taking a seat across from Eren who was sitting next to the blonde teen, you stared at the blonde letting your thoughts wonder as you tried to recollect his identity or if it had been the case that you had just happened to pass by him once or twice, causing you to feel that you knew him. The blonde stared at you in disbelief which confused you.

'Why would he be shocked?'

The teen seemed to have a mental debate with himself, shaking his head back and forth. He seemed to have come to a conclusion, steeling himself up. It all became clear once the male had opened his mouth, still speaking slowly and hesitantly despite his determination, "You probably don't remember me but I'm Armin."

Your eyes widened as recognition filled you. He was the boy that Eren and Mikasa always played with back in Shiganshina. You remember the many stories Eren had told you about the boy. How he got bullied, how smart he was and how he longed to see the world beyond - to see the sea. Much like Eren himself.

"You were the one Eren liked to talk about back then." You said, receiving a small smile and nod from the male.

With that, the four of you started to eat all the while chattering away. After supper was over, you along with the trio went out to go get your things. You had all turned them in before the orientation, which was basically just the lot of you getting brutally bashed and terrorised by Shadis, and so you went back to the hall where you and the others had kept it in.

As you stood in the large hall and grabbed you small satchel, swinging it over your shoulder you couldn't help but shiver. It felt as though you were being watched. Looking around the rather densely packed hall, you brushed it off thinking that it was just one of the cadets talking about you. It wasn't uncommon for people to stare and gossip behind someone's back after all.

The fact that you were one of the few that Shadis hasn't questioned didn't exactly help with trying not to stand out.

A male with straight black hair styled in an undercut curtain walked through the field with a scowl plastered on his face as he glared at the female beside him with his sharp and narrow grey eyes. The glare was nothing short of intimidating but the person beside him seemed unbothered by it, continuing with her rant as her eyes sparkled in delight.

The woman had wide, light brown eyes and shoulder length dark brown hair that she kept tied up in an unkempt high ponytail with bangs parted down the middle. She also had on some kind of goggle like spectacles that was covering her eyes although of course she could see through it since the lens itself was clear.

The pair weren't the most discrete people but no one seemed to notice their presence likely due to the fact that they were having supper. Although if they did, they would probably stair in awe as the two were none other than Squad Captain's Hanji Zoe and Levi Ackerman. Of the two, Levi was even more well known as he held the moniker of 'Humanity's strongest soldier'.

They were both part of the Survey Corps much like what was suggested by the insignia sewn into the sleeves, just below their shoulders and the left breast pocket of their jackets. Two wings, one a dark blue and the other white which was placed on top the other - 'The Wings of Freedom' they called it.

"Would you stop already, you shitty four eyes?" Levi said, clicking his tongue against the roof of his mouth.

Although the male hadn't even shouted, his deep voice made his words seem harsh enough to intimidate and daunt most people. If anyone else were in Hanji's shoes they would likely start shaking in their boots. Of course, Hanji being the rather crazy person she is however, didn't particularly care, choose to completely neglect the shorter male's words.

They quickly made their way to the hall where the new recruits kept their personal items. Seeing the boisterous and loud recruits Levi couldn't help but click his tongue.

'Idiots - the lot of them.'

Irritated, he questioned the brunette who was standing next to him as they kept themselves hidden, "Why did you even want to see the new recruits, shitty glasses? It's not like it's any different from the past years."

"Oh come on, Levi. It's not that bad, we get to see all the new blood and prospective recruits. We can see what they look before and after the entire training course. Besides it's almost a yearly tradition by now!" Hanji said, grinning at the male.

Clicking his tongue yet again he blatantly replied with a deadpan expression on his face, "I'm telling Erwin to escort the new recruits to the base on his own next time."

Hanji snapped her head in his direction and started whining, "Levi!"

As she started to rant and try to convince him to come back here with her and Erwin next year, he scanned through the cadets in the hall. His eyes landed on a certain figure as she swung her satchel over her shoulder.

His eyes narrowed and turning around without a word he left the hall, Hanji chasing after him.
