Chapter 2- Old Past

You couldn't move. Not when a threat was clearly in front of you and could strike whenever he pleased. You didn't show fear. At least you think. Because his body tensed up after analyzing you.

"Let me ask you again. Who are you? And answer me clearly, human." He narrowed his eyes. Now that you could properly notice it now, did you shrink? Or was he really as tall as a human in your world? There's no way he's 3'3. Not when he's basically towering over you. "Speak."

Oh yeah, you're being questioned. "I.. I'm.." you take in a deep breath and try to say your name, but come out blank. You ignore it all together, "I'm just a human! I don't know why I'm here! I'm not the one you should be asking anyway. Eggman did this to me!"

Shadow nods, "Yes, he has. I don't know why the doctor has brought you here and given you power. But that doesn't matter. I can and will beat you all the same." You moved your hands in a surrender. Stepping back.

"I don't want to fight! I don't know how! I'm not your enemy anyway!" You take a small step back, unsure of what he had fully implied. You looked at the control panel. Sonic should've just given you the damn emerald! Why did he run off without thinking?!

"You have answers. You knew of the ARK and yet we never even told you its name. You know who we are, but we never introduced ourselves." He stepped closer than before. "Why is that?" He sounded desperate yet collected. Like he's been wanting answers for awhile.

You thought for a bit, looking over your options. A file showed up when you had analyzed his movements. You didn't need it though. You knew who he was and what he was capable of. He could kill you if he wanted to. How did you acquire this information? Was it just.. pulled by looking at him for long enough?

You also saw how you couldn't detect if he was pissed or not. Helpful. "I was brought from another world.."

He scoffed, "I know. I saw."

   "Well uh...." You knew who he was. You know everything. But you couldn't remember why. You knew inside jokes, you knew everything that would happen.. kind of. But why? How? How do you know yet not know at the same time?! That doesn't make any sense. You being here doesn't make sense, but here you are! Where even is here, and why is it so familiar?

"..I don't know.."

  "You don't know?" You shook your head, looking at your hands. The tips of your fingers are spazzing out with some sort of glitch effect, confusing you. Why have you been having these spasms? Since when? What's happening to you?

"What did he.."

  "Do you seriously not remember anything?" Your head snaps up. You don't say anything, but your confusion is clear. Crystal even. He sighs and scoffs, almost saddened by the prospect, "Typical."

  "Shadow! Someone is running to the control room! Stop them!" Shadow shakes his head and turns to leave. Only sparing you a small glance as you make no attempt to go after him. He made a small movement, as if he was fixing his quills. Then he left without another word. The doors slamming shut behind him.

Once he was truly gone did you take your chance to start to snoop. Trying to figure out what was going on with you. Why are you here? Why do you have a scarf? Things like that. Eggman had something to do with it, but what exactly? How exactly? What did he do to you and how did he bring you here in the first place? All you knew was that you were from another world. That's all you could remember.

As soon as you touched the console, information started to flood into your brain. It didn't matter how classified it was, you got it. With varying degrees of consent. You recognized a considerable amount of these.
