Your parents weren't bad people.
Far from it, You consider yourself lucky to have parents that care about what your doing in school, if your doing well and if your eating enough. But to put into perspective of this constant shove of no privacy and hovering for 16 years would get exhausting. This the the case for you. For your years in life since you started elementary school, your parents were always on your back. AP classes, straight A's, Honor Rolls, all these things you'd bring back to your mother and a smile would spread across her face, yet always push you to accomplish more.

Of course the idea that you have to constantly go above and beyond lead to you having a slightly implied rivalry with another top tier student in your class.

Dee Shvagenbagen. He always had the best scores and never looked like he tried. You didn't often try compete with the blonde but every so often one or two of the preppy girls would come up to you and ask for your score on tests or assignments. If you got an 90, they'd giggle and walk away. If you got a 100, they'd 'ooh', leave and (try to) talk with Dee a small bit. If you got extra points- let's say for once you got a 120 for an assignment- They'd look at Dee with a smirk and talk about how smart you were. You knew they only say that so they can ask for answers later in the year. Despite this odd unspoken competition between the two straight A students, you and Dee never talked face to face... that was until one day.

Of course the result of constant high standers from your parents would lead into burn out. It happens to the best of us- and your grades started to fall.
You were horrified to see that on your report card, a D and an F was disrupting the flow of your A's. So horrified in fact, that you never showed it to your mother or father. When she was asked about it, all you'd say is 'they didn't hand it out yet'

You were actually planning to burn the paper as funny as the thought was but that was before you got a strange note in your locker.

As You starting thinking of where you could get matches to rid of your report card, a small slip note falls out of your locker. You raised a brow and kneeled down, picking up the note. The calligraphy was neat and straight, clearly stating

'behind the school at lunch, don't keep me waiting.'

You had mixed feeling about this. The chance of this either being a confession, an SA, or a jumping are high. But the way it's written had you thought that maybe you should go. Of course, you'll keep your pepper spray in your front pocket just in case. The bell rung to indicate the start of class and you walked to your first period, unaware of your small journal falling out of your bag.

After a few hours, third period ended and students storm out of the building to hang with their friends. You hid your hands in your pockets as you slowly made your way to the back of the school. Worry filled your mind as you thought of what could possibly happen to whoever was waiting for you there.

"Took you long enough." A voice tells You, and that worry slightly left your body. However, only slightly. You look up to see Dee's Icey blue stare. He was leaned on the wall with a book in his hands. Dee didn't seem like the kind of guy to attack a person while no one was watching, but then again, you didn't know Dee at all and he might have the capability.

Dee flipped the page of his book before speaking up. "I heard your grades were slipping. I can help you, with a small fee of course." Ah. You should have seen this coming. It wasn't uncommon for people to ask for assistance from Dee to get at least the minimum passing grade. People did him favors and even gave him money just to get his help. Oh well, it's not like you didn't have money to spend.

With a inward sigh, you pulled out your wallet. "Alright, how much do you need to help me?" you began pulling out a few dollars only for Dee to start laughing.
"I have a different idea." Dee closes his book and slowly approaches you. "You see, I had a bit of a problem with my parents and I want to get back at them." Dee began to examine his black painted fingernails, a smirk on his face as You waited for what he wanted. "After a bit of consideration, I decided what better way to piss them off then by, I don't know; dating a girl without telling them that completely opposes them?" Dee finally says, and you recoil back, your brows furrowing. All this so you can get higher marks? No thank you.

You nearly scoffed, but you thought that would be rude so you simply fixed your posture and spoke. "Why would I date someone just for better grades? The last thing I want is my parents to freak at the sight of you." You simply say, only to be caught off guard when Dee pulls out your small journal.

"Your little book here seems to disagree." Dee jests with a knowing glance. He flips to a page that you recently wrote- about how you wanted to scare your parents a bit to let them know you can do whatever you want. You began looking through your bag with wide eyes. "How did you-?" You began wondering but stopped when Dee offered back the journal. "You want to scare your parents to show your're grown, I want to piss off mine to get revenge. What better way for us to do both at the same time?"

You bit the inside of your mouth, you felt odd about this situation.Firstly; this is a guy you barely knew

Secondly; who would know how the school would react to you two together when Thirdly; you two are supposedly 'rivals'.

"Of course-" Dee began once again, regaining the attention of the girl, "We won't be really dating." He clarified, sass dripping in in voice. "So don't get your hopes up. Do we have a deal?" He glanced over back to you, while you were standing silently, thinking.

The only down side would be what the others think- but the up sides already outweigh that.

With an inward sigh, you nod.
"Alright. But none of the gross couple stuff." You claim. Dee only shrugs his shoulders. "Perfectly fine by me." He walks past you, making sure to hit your shoulder along the way with a smirk. "Talk with you later." He says before leaving.

You raise a brow and stuff your hands into your pockets. That's as when the feeling of a small slip of paper grazes your hand. You never put anything there. When you pulled out the slip, you realize it was a phone number.

XXX-XXX-XXXX talk with you later
-DEEThat sneaky little-

The bell interrupts your thoughts, signifying that lunch has ended. What the hell have you gotten yourself into?
