N clearly took notice of her struggling with her decision so he knew if he wanted any hope of helping her, he had to unleash his ultimate weapon. He clasped his hands together, leaned down, and gave Uzi huge, sparkly, puppy eyes. "Please, can I help? Even just a little bit?"
Uzi tried not to make eye contact with him, but she couldn't help but glance back at his adorable face. Dang it, N, why did you have to be so cute? She sighed. "Fine, I guess it wouldn't hurt."
N beamed happily. "Oh, thank you, Uzi! I promise, I will be a big help!"
The purple drone chuckled. She kinda doubted that, but by the sincere tone in his voice, he was going to at least try.
Uzi pulled out history first, finding that subject to be the most boring and pointless. Why did they even need to learn all this useless information? It was all about humans who have been dead for hundreds of year, why should she care? It didn't help that she hated humans.
N seemed to be enjoying himself, his curiosity peaking the more he learned. Especially when it got to the first evolution of technology. "It's crazy how the humans were able to create all this, how did they know it was going to work?"
"I don't know, and I don't frankly care. You already know how I feel about humans." Uzi huffed and crossed her arms.
N shuffled uncomfortably. "Oh, yeah, right..." he hesitated before taking a breath, he was probably going to say something he's gonna regret. "But, you know, we should also be kinda...thanking them"
Uzi immediately wiped around, "What?" Her voice was cold and bitter, making N shudder.
N quickly continued, "I-It's just, thanks to them we're here now! Without them we wouldn't...even...exist." He trailed off as Uzi gave him an icy cold glare.
"Yeah, thanks to them, many innocent worker drones were used as slaves, and that one moment they were given even an ounce of freedom, they were killed. Slaughtered, because the humans didn't care if they had feelings. To them, they were just walking tools who were only meant to work. So, they had to go into hiding, afraid of the outside world they finally had, because the humans sent you, the disassembly drones, with no way of getting back and were left to die after the work was finished. You, also, don't even remember who you were before. Your memories completely wiped, so then you could be programmed to only hunt, kill, with no freedom to think for yourself. Then, there's me. My entire life I was bullied and ignored, thinking I was never loved by anybody, even by my own father! So, oh yeah, thank you humans, for making me and putting me through this hell I call my life!" Uzi towered over N. "It would've been better if I never existed at all."
N was slightly shaking at Uzi's outburst, and Uzi swore she saw a flash of hurt in his eyes.
Realizing that she might have gone too far, she pulled back to give N some space. "Sorry..." she bit her lower lip, her guilt quickly replacing her bitterness.
"N-no, it's ok, I shouldn't have said anything." There he goes again, taking the blame. And by his stiff shoulders, the apology didn't seem to help. Usually, N would accept the apology really quickly, but something about Uzi's outburst still clearly bothered him.
"No, it's not, I can tell. What is it?" Uzi took N's shaking hand in her's. "I cant make things right if you wont tell me what I said bothered you."
N looked away, too nervous to tell her what's wrong. But he knew that Uzi wasn't the type of drone to back down. He took in a deep breath. "Did you mean it would've been better if...we never met?"
Uzi's eyes widened. "Oh, N, no, that's not what I meant-"
N wasn't finished, "I mean, I get it. A lot of heartache has been caused because I exist, and maybe it would've been better if I didn't either. But, if we didn't, then we would never have met, and I don't think I would want that..." he gave Uzi a somber look. "If you never existed, then I would still be mercilessly killing so many worker drones, I would still be abused by my own teammates, I would still be alone." N's frowned turned into a smile. "I don't think you realize how important you are, Uzi. Especially to me."
