Xavier had been planning this date for days, and he really couldn't wait to see Danny's beautiful face light up when he shows up at his doorstep with a basket full of goodies and a blanket spread out on the roof, Danny was a sucker for food, everyone knew that. You give Danny a plate of food and you'll never get rid of him.
As he arrived at Danny's apartment, Xavier could feel his heart racing with excitement. He took a deep breath, smoothed out his shirt, and knocked on the door. The door opened, and Danny gave him a nice smile.
Sure he didn't feel the same as Xavier but he did agree to the date so why not see how it plays out and it wasn't as if he had other suitors, the only other one he could have had is happy celebrating his honeymoon/wedding anniversary in another country. So why not try to see how Xavier takes this seriously.
"Hey, Xavier," Danny said, his voice husky and smooth. "You're really going all out for this date, aren't you?" He let out a light laugh. He wasn't going to ridicule Xavier for trying, a little part of him was happy about the attention.
Xavier grinned, feeling a flutter in his chest., he liked hearing Danny laugh, he liked seeing him happy especially if he's the cause of it. "I wanted to make it special," he said, holding up the basket. "I've got everything we need for a lovely picnic. We have sandwiches, cheese, fruit, cupcakes, brownies and a freshly baked pie."
Danny's eyes widened as he took in the spread. "Oh wowwww, you're really spoiling me," he said, his tone full of amusement. Like said before, Danny was a sucker for food.
Xavier chuckled. "I like to treat myself," he said as he shrugged, winking. "And I figure you're worth it."
Danny blushed, but Xavier could see the excitement in his eyes. He nodded, and Danny helped him carry the basket out onto the rooftop.
As they set up the picnic blanket, Xavier couldn't help but notice how cute Danny looked in his worn jeans and faded t-shirt. His hair was messy and endearing, and his eyes sparkled with mischief. Xavier felt his heart skip a beat as he caught himself thinking about how much he wanted to kiss Danny.
But for now, they were focused on enjoying the sunrise. They sat down on the blanket, and Xavier handed Danny a steaming cup of coffee.
"Thanks for this," Danny said, taking a sip. "I really needed this." He let out a sigh.
Xavier smiled. "I figured you might be a little rough around the edges after last night's party," he said, winking.
Last night Amara had threw a party and she invited close friends and Diego being friends with Xavier, he invited him over. They had fun and all got really drunk.
Danny laughed. "Guilty as charged," he said, rubbing his temples. "I'm not exactly used to being up so early on a Sunday, especially without having Lola here to wake us all up for church." He let out a sad laugh, making Xavier run his hands up and down his back.
Xavier is aware of Lola, the guys spoke about her a lot, she really left an impact in their lives. And Danny was really fond of speaking about her. It was like HE was the one she had birthed.
"Well, you're in good company now," he said. "I'm not exactly a morning person either." Xavier said with a small smile on his face
As they sipped their coffee and munched on the pastries Xavier brought, Xavier and Danny chatted about everything from their favorite TV shows.
"How I met your mother far way better than Friends. What the fuck you talking about" Danny rolled his eyes at the dread headed man sitting opposite from him
"Dude..." Xavier let out a frustrated sigh. "....friends is like the greatest sitcom to ever exist, how can one be so blind" Xavier slapped his hand on his forehead in frustration.
