"Why don't you take today off and relax?" His voice whispered to you; it almost convinced you to stay. You started to nod your head until you remembered your project.

"I can't! I'm doing a bird thing." A groan left you as you pulled your knees up to your chin and wrapped your arms around them. You fully lent into his touch, close to falling asleep. You were taken aback when he let out a laugh.

"A "bird thing"? That's such a lousy excuse..." You could hear the amusement in his voice and while you wished it was an excuse, this time it wasn't.

"I'm putting together an exhibit in the main hall. I have to get it done by tomorrow or else someone else will get to take the spot for something else. I have to do it." You yawned as you defended your excuse, knowing no one else wanted that spot and the only time crunch you were on was your own for your own reasons.

"Alright," he said, lightly brushing back a strand of your hair that had fallen out of your loose updo with his thumb, "I'll believe you, but just this once." You were surprised to see him in such a positive mood, if you didn't know better, you'd think he was...flirting with you. You knew he wasn't affectionate with his closest friends like this, but you stopped yourself from letting your thoughts wonder. It was nice to be able to talk to him so casually, and deep down it was nice to know that he was comfortable enough to hold you the way he did.

The door startled you both and broke the two of you out of whatever bubble had formed around you, snapping you both back to reality as Dorothy looked at you from across the small part of yard that separated the house from the barn. Her eyes holding a million and one questions.

"You ready for work Hun?" She walked over. Megatron, taking a hint for once in his life, set you on the ground and you cleared your throat.

"Y-yep!" You said a tad bit too eager for it to be the truth. Dorothy looked from you to the bot and back to you again before she muttered a small "uh huh." and walked to her truck. You followed. Only turning back when Megatron called out your name.

Your face flushed as he knelt down, handing you the mug you had dropped when he had snatched you up.

"Thanks." You muttered. His face was too close to yours and he took that as an opportunity to wish you a good day at work.

You nodded, feeling the warmth of your crush showing on your cheeks. You couldn't stop yourself from waving to him after you closed the door and tried not to look back, hoping the drive would be mostly silent.

Oh boy, it was not.

"So..." Dorothy started drumming her hands on the steering wheel. She was driving 5 miles under the speed limit. "What was that all about?" Her voice held a knowingness to it, almost expecting you to divulge all the details of your short encounter with the mech she knew you liked.

"It was...nothing." You lied. She immediately picked up on your not-truth and side eyed you, letting out another unconvinced "uh huh."

"No, really. He was just apologizing to me and," you thought of a lie to explain why he had basically kept you hostage on the barns roof, "And, and I couldn't hear him, so he helped me get...closer." Your face went red after the implications hit you. Your eyes never drifted from the forest that was outside your window.

"Closer? So, you could hear him, or closer because- ", You cut her off in embarrassment.

"Because I couldn't hear him!" You hid your face with your arm and tried to ignore the woman's small chuckles.

"See, because from where I was standing it didn't look like he was all that worried about whether or not you could hear him." You felt a groan get caught in your throat.
