Kelly Olsen let out a soft sigh as she watched a yellow taxi pull up to the side of her eldest sister, Ashley's home. Stepping away from the window, Kelly turned to face Ashley. In less than twenty minutes, Kelly would be boarding a flight to head back home to Los Angeles. She had been staying with Ashley for the last three days. Ashley designs clothes and owns her own business so her schedule was usually hectic. Whenever she caught a break, she liked to spend time with her family - especially her sisters. They had always been close growing up and she wanted it to stay that way. Alas, that break was over and it was time for work to take charge again.

"Did you make sure you got everything?" Ashley asked, looking up at her sister. She grabbed Kelly's suitcase and rolled it to the door. Kelly nodded.

"Yeah, I triple checked everything," Kelly replied, grabbing her backpack from off the floor. She slung it over her shoulder. The taxi honked it's horn, signaling that it was ready to go. Kelly sighed again. "I don't want to leave. I'm gonna miss you." Kelly pouted her bottom lip, a wave of sadness washing over her.

"I know. I don't want you to leave either," Ashley said. She opened up her arms and engulfed Kelly in a hug. Their hug was cut short when the taxi honked their horn once more. Kelly pursed her lips as she pulled away. "Make sure you text me when you land so I know you made it home safe."

"I will. Bye Ash," Kelly said, waving as she exited her sisters home. As she packed her belongings into the trunk of the taxi, she took in the scenery around her once more. She was going to miss the beautiful things that Shanghai, China had to offer. Though she missed the comfort of her own bed dearly, Kelly was not excited for this thirteen and a half hour flight.

Once she arrived at the airport, she checked her bags in and made her way to the waiting area. She took an empty seat near the wall so she wouldn't have to sit near anyone. She was already going to be squished next to someone for almost fourteen hours, she planned on spending every second she possibly could as far away from people as she could get. She slouched in the chair and pulled her phone out. Kelly quickly replied to a text from her other sister, Elizabeth.

After getting bored of scrolling through different social media apps on her phone, Kelly looked up from her lap and scanned the area around her. She liked to people-watch whenever given the chance.

A tall man took a seat in the chair directly across from Kelly. His dark hair was concealed by a plain black baseball hat. He had Airpods in and was distracted by the phone in his hand. Taking another glance around her, Kelly noticed not many people were around. She grabbed a book from her backpack, hoping it would pass the time as she waited for her flight number to be called. It was The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton, one of her favorites. Opening the book, a soft smile formed on her lips. She had read it several times and it was beginning to show. Anytime she couldn't find something to read, that was her go-to book.
