Mermaid tutorial for @kylie_weasleyxo (and anyone else who wants to try) (pt 2)

Start from the beginning

Now the most complicated part - the face
Draw the nose a bit in front of the face - if you look at the reference you see that the nose and the face below it are a bit in front of the rest of the face
Draw a line from the nose and connect it to the jaw
I kind of messed up on the mouth here, but above all make sure that the lower lip/jaw is not in front of the upper one and that it's not too close to the chin
(Also ignore that little spot on the cheek - idk what that is, I couldn't erase it)

Draw two slightly curved lines for the eye and connect them with a third
To draw the iris, just make the connecting line thicker (only on the inside!)
The eye doesn't need a back line, but you can connect the two lines anyway

Your drawing should look something like this now (sorry for the bad quality :/)

You can stop here, or you can draw something she's looking at too

I'm going to draw a shark, but if you want, I can do a tutorial for other things like a fish or octopus

I normally draw a lil arrow, pointing to where whatever I'm drawing is looking, so I know approximately where to put the next thingThe position of it (in this case, the shark) then depends at where on its body the previous drawing is looking

Draw a triangular shape for the head and curve it down, narrowing it as you go

Finish it bumy curving like thisYou can put it in any other position too, and if you want a reference or guide, you can go on Pinterest or YouTube

Your shark should look something like this, you can also add a waving line for a lighter stomach if you want

And there you have it - a mermaid and a smol shark

All that's left it to erase the sketches

You can leave it as it is or shade or colour it

Or both hehe

If you want you can post your result (pls tag me if you do :>)

You can ask me for any other tutorial, but I would ask for a reference, if you do :)

Now, as is tradition, for my amiga
