. . . synopsis

Olivia Bennett had been singing since she was a little kid. It wasn't even just a "her" thing—everyone grew up hearing her voice, and honestly, most of them loved it. It was just part of who she was, as natural as breathing or cracking some sarcastic-ass joke.

      Since her mom and Ellen Baker had been best friends forever, Olivia basically grew up attached to Max and Marcus. She was always closer to Marcus, though—he was quiet, steady, and just saw her in a way most people didn't. Max had dragged her into their little circle back in the day, and by middle school, everyone started calling them MOAN (Max, Olivia, Abby, and Nora). The name stuck, whether they liked it or not. And even though she loved the whole group, she felt a way deeper connection with Abby. They just understood each other without having to say it—the skipped meals, the quiet struggles, all the stuff no one else talked about.

      People either loved Olivia or they hated her, and she never really seemed to give a damn. But when things with Marcus started shifting—the late-night talks, the looks that lingered a second too long—Olivia had no idea about the messy-ass history with Ginny playing out right under the surface.

      But in Wellsbury, secrets never stay buried for long.
