"This is not working." she told Peter, who was on his fourth glass of champagne.

"You have one more, just try it. If you hate it, I will admit that I was wrong." he offered.

"Fine." and she trudged back to the dressing room.

Oh wow. The last dress was absolutely beautiful. It was so simply and that's what made it pretty. It was a black jacquard printed A line with a round neck and trumpet sleeves. Under the bust had a very elegant bow to complement the waistline. This was perfect. She put it on and immediately felt comfortable. She hoped he liked it as much as she did. He was flipping through another magazine and didn't look up right away. "What do you think?" she asked.

He glanced up and dropped the magazine. She was nervous because he still hadn't said anything. He took her hand and spun her around. "You look...stunning." he stumbled over his words some.

"I love it." she told him.

"Then it's yours." he told her.

She changed back into her regular clothes while Peter paid the dress and got it bagged. They both thanked the girls in the store for their help and headed out. Before the door shut, Peter must've heard something because he started laughing.

"What?" Charlotte asked.

"They want to how I'm not drunk". The both laughed it off as they walked to Charlotte's car.

She put the bags in the trunk and looked at the time. "It's almost three, I better start getting ready. Thank you so much for today and thanks for listening." she said, looking up at him.

"You're welcome and thank you for telling me." he said with a smile.

Charlotte wanted to make the first move, so she did. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. He was more than happy to return the kiss and lifted her off the ground. As much as they would have loved to stay like that, Peter set her down and gently pulled back.

"Sweetheart, you better go or we're never going to leave this parking lot." he told her.

"I guess you're right. I'll text you later." she said, opening her door. She looked back at him but he was already gone.

She got home to just in time to see Allison running out the front door. "Oh my god, Char, I forgot the dress! How could I forget that?! I was freaking out about my car being towed and the guy that kept asking all those weird questions. I got home and dad needed my help with some stuff-" her frantic speech was stopped by Charlotte handing her the Macy's bag.

"It's all good." Charlotte said with a smile.

Allison just hugged her and thanked her repeatedly. They did each other's hair and helped with makeup. When they were done, they took a picture together in the bathroom mirror. "This is my new favorite photo of us." Allison said proudly.

"That's your only photo of us" Charlotte laughed.

"Well, I guess we will just have to take more." Allison said, walking out.

Charlotte frowned slightly. They weren't going to get anymore chances after tomorrow.

The winter formal was actually fun. Charlotte got hit on a lot and constantly asked what grade she was in. She found it cute but politely told them she was too old and had a boyfriend. She met the coach for the first time, as she never went to any of the lacrosse games. To say this dude was loud would be an understatement. He seemed like a nice guy, though. Funny to say the least. She was in sitting in the corner when her phone rang. Just the man she was thinking about "Hey." she answered.
