Caroline's POV

"Stefan, could you pass us three more Jell-O shots, please?" I ask, and he complies, pulling out a red, a green and a blue for us and passing them back. After a couple of days in the same car as Damon and no WiFi, you can't really blame me for cracking open all things liquor. Texts from Jeremy and Enzo lead us to conclude that we are ahead in the race. Alaric's team took a shortcut but got stuck in a two-hour traffic jam on a highway. Apparently Klaus and Enzo started bickering over which way to go, and they ended up getting completely lost, which was not good for the Original's ego.

We, however, went the right way and ended up just outside the border of Beacon Falls when the moon began to rise high in the sky. I realize now that it's a full moon, and I just hope this town isn't infested with werewolves. Damon pulls up beside an old weathered sign that reads 'Beacon Falls' and turns the engine off. He gets out, grabs the bottle of Bourbon we've been sharing and leans against the car door.

"And now," he says. "We wait."

The Beacon Falls sign is next to the road that we were on. The road, if you went further, split a path between a dense block of forest. I can see the full moon's light streaming through the leaves, illuminating the forest floor below. Elena and Bonnie are talking on the hood of the car so I join them, taking the Bourbon bottle from Bonnie and having a swig.

A while later, the other teams had still not arrived, and Klaus kept the new house address to himself, thinking that he'd get there first, so we couldn't go into town and find it. Instead, I started to hear weird things in the forest. The shuffling of leaves, someone whistling, even the sound of a wolf howling, but since I know that there hasn't been any wolves in California in over sixty years, I brush it off. But then I heard something. I voice in the wind, something. It was getting closer to us, and it was calling out for someone. As it got closer, it became clearer.

"Liam!" It shouts. I think Damon and Stefan heard it too, because they looked around.

"Liam!" Someone yells, closer now. Elena hears it too, and the Salvatore brothers move closer toward the forest.

"What is that?" Bonnie asks, obviously hearing it. We all move closer to the forest, now standing in the entrance. Suddenly, a bush bursts open as a teenage boy runs through it. He sprints across the road, not looking back. There was something strange about him though. His eyes were glowing yellow. I swallow uneasily. So there were supernaturals here. Stefan and Damon look to me, obviously seeing it too. Elena looks shocked. A second later, another boy bursts through the bushes, and he's older this time. He sprints across the road too, taking no notice of us at the end. Following the older boy, there is a Japanese girl holding a sword, who sprints across the road with a tall, brown-haired girl whose eyes are glowing blue by her side, who both also take no notice of the vampires standing at the edge of the forest. Last, there was another boy, who my guess was human.

"Liam! Get your ass back here!" The brown-haired boy shouts. He wanders out in the middle of the road. Throwing up his hands, he says, "Great. Thank you, Scott, for leaving me out here. God." He turns to look at us, then does a double take. He stares at us and we stare at him. Finally, he points to us, then to the forest where his friends went, then pointed to his eyes, and then finally he put a finger to his lips and winked at us. I used my vampire hearing to hear what he was saying.

"Keep the supernatural crap in the bag, okay?" I nod in response. He gives me another wink then continues his way down the opposite end of the road, walking away from us.

"Did he just wink at you?" Damon asks.

"I think so," I reply. Just then, Klaus's Mustang pulls up just beside the Beacon Falls sign. Damon snickers as Klaus chucks him the thousand year old bottle of Bourbon, along with the keys to the house. Klaus does a double take when he sees my face.

"What's wrong, love?" he asks, concerned.

"I don't think we're the only supernaturals here." I whisper.
