Everyone has secrets that they keep hidden away. I definitely do and I intend to keep them that way. My parents have painted me as their perfect daughter. They've already accepted my brother's flaws but at least he's on his way to college. I only have one year left of high school and once I'm done, I'm leaving.

I've already planned it all out. Grab my diploma and head on down to the city and get a good paying job that I'm passionate about. The main goal is to have no distractions and I'm positive that I won't have any. I can't at least.

As I make it down stairs in my new clean outfit I bought with my chore money, I spot mom in the kitchen, trapping Taehyung by the sink.

"I mean it, Tae. Your father and I didn't help you get into college just for you to slack off." My mom points her finger before her eyes land on me.

I quickly grab one of the green apples on the table and turn towards the living room. "Riley," mom calls out. By the sound of her tone, I can predict a lecture. I bite down on my apple and reach for my bag on the couch.

"Riley!" Mom calls out again. I come to a stop, knowing that there's no getting out of this. I slowly turn on my heels and face mom, removing the apple from my mouth. "Yes..." I breathe, forcing an unpleasing smile that can fool her so easily.

She grabs the sides of my arms and pouts, "I know you're in a hurry. This won't take long." I glance around her to see Taehyung sneaking away while he throws his thumbs up and smiles. He's wicked.

"This is your final year in highschool. Make it worth while. Have some fun but not too much fun. It's okay to make a mistake here and there. Just don't end up like your brother." She says, giving me one good shake.

"You don't need to worry, mom." I say, backing away to the front door. She nods, "I won't. I just want to make sure that you don't take your senior year for granted." I can hear dad slam his fist on the horn three times. "Okay, mom. I got it. Don't worry." I hurry out the door before mom can say anymore.
