Cassandra's POV:-
Remember, Cassandra, focus on your form. Precision over power.
The words of my couch echoed in my head, as I walked towards the angry dragon. He roared at me, I strolled towards him, staring into his eyes, "Cassandra, what are you doing?" Alexis whispered, "Trying to get him and be his friend." I answered simply, "Are you sure about that? Because to me, it seems that he's taking you as his enemy." Alexis said in a sarcastic tone, staying close to me. I rolled my eyes at her.
"Shush! You're making me lose focus." I said in a soft tone, continuing to walk towards him, I didn't look at Alexis but I know she rolled her eyes at me. The dragon took a deep breath, and here it goes again! He opened his mouth and blew fire in our direction, I grabbed Alexis' hand and used my super speed to get us far away from the fire. I looked at Alexis with puppy eyes, this was the fifth time, I indirectly told her to use her ice powers to freeze the fire before it could spread in the forest. Alexis sighed and put her feet in front and it released ice.
How did we even get ourselves in the situation? I heard Alexis' thoughts ring in my head, and this time I sighed.
Flashback**
I walked in the forest through the woods, while Dad's and my morning conversation kept worrying, it wasn't a fight or anything, but a usual "Heir to the throne" talk. He wants me to take over the Kingdom and rule it. I'm the only heir to the throne, and since Dad is getting old day by day, traitors are getting a chance to be strong again, so he wants me to take care of it. I know I have to be the Queen of the Kingdom, but I didn't expect it to be so soon. I still have a lot to learn, and I'm not even ready for it.
"There you are!" Alexis said stopping her horse right in front of me, I gave her a smile, and she returned it to me, she got off her horse and tied the rope to a tree. "Where have you been?" I asked her, since I hadn't seen her at the Castle since morning, "Oh, nothing much, just running around doing duties in the Castle and training with the soldiers, that's all!" She replied with a sigh, "The real question is, where have you been?" She asked putting a hand on my shoulder and emphasizing 'you'. I sighed, "Avoiding my dad!" I answered, I could see her face drop.
"The 'heir to the throne' talk again, huh?" She asked without a second thought, I nodded. Alexis knows everything about my life, she knows me even better than I could ever know myself, her family served the Kingdom and well, passed away in a battle. Ever since then, she has had the same motive, to die for the Kingdom. We've been friends since we were born, her dad used to be my Dad's second-in-command. "Cassie, you should understand-"
"I do understand Lexi, I do understand, but then..." I paused looking down, Alexis sighed. "You're not ready for it, are you?" She said it, and I nodded, "I get it, but you know-" Alexis got interrupted by the sound of a roar, we looked around and saw a dragon appear, from the shadows. I raised an eyebrow and smirked at him. "Oh shit! Don't tell me that you're thinking that Cassandra." Lexi said, Lexi and I both had the power to read the minds of other people. So she obviously read what my mind thought of. I nodded at her, and she shook her head.
"Must you have that dragon, you can find plenty of friendly dragons?!" Alexis said, I rolled my eyes at her. "No, I want this one!" I grinned, and Alexis rolled her eyes. "Cassandra-" Before she could complete herself, I grabbed her hand to run away, because if I hadn't we'd be the dragon's dinner.
End of Flashback**
I slowly moved towards the dragon, steady this time. The dragon moved toward me but then went back, but this time he didn't seem to blow fire at my face. I walked towards the dragon, reaching out my hand towards its face. It came forward, sniffing my hand. However, it didn't come closer, instead, it roared at my face and flew away. Damn it! An amazing chance to tame the dragon and make it my own, but I failed. I sighed, "Don't disheart yourself, it's okay! There are plenty of dragons out there which you'll find lovely." Alexis motivated me from behind, I shook my head, that dragon seemed like something else. It's the eye!
It looked magnificent, I want that dragon. And whatever I want, I get it on my own. We heard another roar of a dragon, we both turned around and saw it was Skylar on her dragon. Another friend of ours. She smiled and walked towards us. "Hey, where have you been all day?" Skylar asked, she's been our childhood friend ever since we were children. "Oh nothing, just wandering around. What about you?" Alexis answered with a smile, she nodded, "King Harrison has summoned you." Skylar informed.
Alexis smirked, and I rolled my eyes, "Do you know the reason why he has?" I asked her, Skylar nodded, "The King and the Queen of Eclipsara Kingdom are on their way here." She said, my eyebrow shot up, "What?!" I exclaimed, "No wonder, everyone was running around doing things in the Castle." Alexis said thinking to herself. "Shit, we gotta leave and help with preparations!" I said, Lexi and Skylar, both nodded. Alexis and Skylar both came on their horses, while I made a run towards the kingdom.
The Eclipsara Kingdom was one of our Allies, we've been through a lot of trouble, but that Kingdom helped us through it all, we're pretty close to each other, and it's normal for us or them to visit, but whenever they do, they inform us. However, them coming with short notice must mean something's up. I arrived at the Kingdom, and as expected everyone was running around, preparing for the welcoming of the King and Queen of Eclipsara Kingdom.
