As I stood by Danielle's side, I turned around and saw Minji. I remembered how much fun we had on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. That's right, I had spent the whole weekend with her. On Saturday, she invited me to dinner again and this time she teased me, saying she didn't know me well enough to kiss me, and on Sunday, we were at her place with Jongin and Sihyun.
"No, Dani, I can't keep playing with her," I spun around quickly and immediately covered my mouth, "Damn it, Danielle..." I almost yelled at her for not letting me know that Hanni was there.
"Sorry, I thought you wouldn't say anything," she said with wide eyes.
"I-I'm sorry..." Hanni stammered nervously, "I didn't mean to eavesdrop." I covered my face in despair and turned away again to walk to my locker, ignoring Hanni's calls.
"Having a rough morning?" I loved feeling her breath in my ear.
"Terrible," I confessed with a sigh.
"Did someone bother you?" she asked seriously.
"No," I laughed, "Just a problem with Danielle, nothing more." I grabbed the last book I needed for today's classes.
"Are you sure?"
"Absolutely."
"Alright," the bell signaled that it was time to go to class. We had Physics together.
"Hey, where are you going?"
"To my seat," I replied, oblivious, and she shook her head, gesturing to follow her to the left.
"Really?" I asked wide-eyed, wanting her to let me sit with her.
"Really," she affirmed, and without hesitation, I followed her.
"Move," she ordered a guy I didn't even realize was in the classroom.
"But there are two seats there," he pointed timidly to the two front seats.
"Move," she repeated, and I was about to suggest to Minji that we sit in the front seats when the guy timidly stood up, leaving the seat free.
"You're a bully, Minji," I said laughing.
"Sit down," she said, giving me the back seat.
The class began, it was the first period, and I already wanted to run away. Well, we all wanted to run away. The teacher was explaining how to solve some problems and wouldn't stop writing. The blue marker squeaked as it pressed against the whiteboard. Minji leaned back with annoyance, so I didn't hesitate to amuse myself with her beautiful blonde locks.
"I love your hair," I confessed in a whisper. She turned to look at me and smiled.
She raised her head again, turning back to the board, pushing her hair to one side, exposing a bit of skin at the base of her neck. With the tips of my fingers, I made small caresses, causing her to shiver.
"Enough," she whispered.
"Don't you like it?"
"Yes, but..." she shivered again.
"Is everything alright, Miss Kim?" everyone turned to Minji, who just nodded. Everyone returned their gaze to the front except Danielle and Hanni, who kept watching us. I glared at both of them, really angry. Danielle probably already told her about the bet, which was turning into a huge problem.
I stopped bothering Minji to write down everything that was on the board, although it was difficult to know where to start, it was full.
Two loud knocks on the door made everyone turn to it, hoping someone would take time away from the teacher and we could skip class. The door opened, revealing my ex-girlfriend's figure.
"May I have the players from the team..." she said with that beautiful voice.
"And the cheerleaders," Garam added with her whistle voice.
"Go on, you're a cheerleader," Minji told me, nodding towards the door with her chin.
"Go on, you're a player," I said the same way, and she laughed."No more for me," I lied.
"Then not for me either," I smiled, "I don't have anyone to cheer for." She shook her head playfully and stood up, and so did I.
"We have a game this Wednesday, so come in your uniforms," Garam instructed us.
"Why did you make us leave classes for this?" I heard Minji's voice, "Couldn't you wait an hour and do it during break?" We turned and I could see she was talking to Eunchae. She was right, it was a total waste of time.
"Please," Eunchae said aggressively, "If you really cared about school, you wouldn't be late." Minji should have already left.
"Shut up, idiot, unless you want me to punch you," she said, about to jump on her, but the other players stopped her.
I quickly turned around to go to Minji.
"Haerin, I'm not done," Garam protested, but I gestured for her to be quiet, and then I heard Hanni say "I'll tell her later."
"Minji," I pushed my way through the others, "Let's go," I almost pleaded. I didn't want her to get into trouble, I was sure Eunchae wouldn't shut up — it's not worth it," Minji put her arm around my shoulders.
"...That's not what you said before." What the hell did she want? Did she really want them to hit her? She had brought it upon herself.
"Okay, you asked for it," everything happened so fast that in less than three seconds, Minji had tackled Eunchae in the middle of the hallway, in front of the classroom door.
"Minji!" I yelled in frustration. She shouldn't have done that, not here, or she'd get in trouble. But even among the five players, they couldn't stop them.
Now the eight of us were sitting on the benches waiting for the principal to see us.
"What happened now?" the principal asked with a big sigh, addressing Minji.
Everyone started talking at once, Minji started arguing with Eunchae again. Both stood up ready to turn the principal's office into a wrestling ring, and again, everyone intervened because even the principal couldn't restore order.
"Enough!" he yelled, making everyone jump, including me. "The next person who utters a foul word will be suspended and will have detention for two months!" Everyone fell silent, and he looked surprised at me.
"I can't understand what you're doing mixed up with these uncivilized girls," he said, shaking his head.
"She's not 'mixed up' with anyone," Minji defended me, "It's just that this..." she paused before continuing.
"This?... What? Come on, what?" Eunchae stood up again, challenging her, "Aren't you tough? Say it and then get out of here." She started snapping her fingers, and once again, Minji lunged at her.
Minji's gaze met mine, and Eunchae's right palm crashed into her cheek. I closed my eyes and turned away, I was upset. Couldn't she just ignore her to end the problem already?
"That's enough!" he yelled again. "What's wrong with you? If you can't control yourselves, both of you will be expelled! I won't tolerate these 'quarrels' on my campus!" He was red with anger. "Get out!" Everyone left, and Minji stood up, leaving Eunchae lying there and sat back next to me. The angry principal turned to us. He was almost emitting smoke from his ears and fire from his mouth.
