Chapter 5 - Anomaly's Tendency

+

The subway had stopped around halfway past Dongho bridge, with my eyes peeking through the door as several survivors on the other side gasped in horror at the scenary.

Monsters that were reminiscent of a giant snake were eating the wreckage of a fighter jet that had crashed into the Han river.

Yet I was filled with only unease, seeing my favorite's face a blur.

Right.

How could I possibly forget, that Kim Dokja's face was quite literally protected by the exclusive skill, fourth wall?

I could hear the sound of people screaming in fear as the ichthyosaur Or more commonly referred to as a sea serpent approached the subway. A Grade-7 monster in the world of Ways of survival, as well as ORV.

I didn't pay it much mind, since scenarios took precedence over anything in the world of the novel I read. As long as I was protected by the scenario, I wouldn't have to deal with such monsters straight away. Only for the time being of course.

[Compensation settlement is delayed due to an unexpected scenario check. Please wait.]

It was no surprise as I looked at the window in front of me. The compensation settlement should have been done with by now, but it was delayed due to Dokja in the novel.

Dokja, as well was an outsider to his own favorite novel. Thus, many things had changed because of him. Much like the character Kim Namwoon, who was supposed to kill most of the people in Dokja's subway in a battle royale but then, he died due to Dokja's interference.

So, those who were angry at Kim Namwoon's death would probably appear.

Here?

Not here.

They were in the sky above.

It's not my business of course. Since I wasn't involved at what happened at all. Rather, I was just here; peacefully cheating the first scenario and milking as much as coins i could possible from the gift I had received.

However, it had to be explained.

Constellations, were mysterious beings in both WOS and ORV. They sat behind watching from the distant nebulas, and were the masterminds of this world's tragedy.

If I remember correctly, Dokja had four constellations eyeing him; due to him keeping up quite the show. Me on the other hand? I could be viewed as just some lucky guy. So i doubted that most constellations would find me interesting.

[A handful of constellations are surprised that you made it out alive.]

[A handful of constellations are amazed by your luck.]

[The constellations have sponsored you 400 coins.]

Well. Despite being a guy who was just lucky, my luck was huge after all, gaining that much coins from just a single scenario is normally impossible.

Yet it just happened.

That in itself, was somewhat of an achievement in the eyes of these supposed 'higher beings'.

Not that I really care about which constellation was which.

Okay.

Maybe I cared [Secret Plotter], [The Prisoner of the Golden Headband] and a few more constellations.

I looked out of the subway window, finally witnessing the beauty of the apocalypse that took place outside.

Normally, I'm not an emotional person. However, this time i placed my hand on my erratic chest; the corner of my mouth curving upwards to a smile.
