Date With the Water Dragon

"You got it!' Link answered.

"Before you hasten this task," she made Link come to a halt. "The girl stays with me."

"No."

I looked to Link. He had such a determined and fierce look in his eyes.

"Link, it's alright." I say quietly.

"No, I won't leave you again."

"It'll be okay. Just... just trust me."

After a little more convincing, Link agreed although I could tell he didn't want to. He said that he was worried if Ghirahim came back and I was defenseless, but I assured him that Ghirahim would not return. I knew he wouldn't.

"Excellent. Now run along. One does not keep a dragon waiting."

We both waited until Link was ut of earshot before we turned to one another.

"Hello Faron."

"I always told you that your boy was no good." Faron huffed angrily.

I took a deep breath. A big reason why I didn't interact with the Water Dragon as much as the others was because she always berated me for my love of Ghirahim. She shared Hylia's sentiments about our relationship.

"I know."

"And to think, even in your magnificent form, you were naive enough to fall for his tricks and fell prey to his ministrations."

"Faron, we've had this conversation a thousand times. I was in love with him and he loved me. DO I regret what happened? No. If I had to, I would do it all over with him."

"How disappointing, my lady. I remember so clearly when you came to me informing me of my role in saving the Surface from him and his master. If only you could have held your ground against him. Then maybe your soul wouldn't be bound to him."

Her little jab cut deep.

"You know...?"

"I am the great Water Dragon of Faron, of course, I knew." She paused, her snarl that was on her lips curled even tighter at the distraught look on my face. "No fear, my lady. My brother's lips were sealed. He even lied to me. The nerve of that man!"

I felt a little relieved knowing that Eldin never told his sister dragon of the act I had committed.

"He did it to protect me." I said in his defense.

I was not a very confrontational person. The only times I was was when I defended those I cared about whether that was Erebus, Ghirahim, or Eldin.

"He should have been loyal to HIS goddess." Faron snapped.

She was just as harsh as ever. It surprised me that she didn't try to snap off my head when I was tasking her with her destiny. I think the only reasons she didn't was because I was dying and because they were Hylia's orders.

Faron never respected me or Erebus because we were Hylia's creations.

Or at least, she respected me while I was Hylia's little lap dog.

"I was his goddess. Unlike you, he was a good friend and stuck with me until the end."

"He let you bind your soul with that vile demon. You really think we dragons wouldn't feel your bond?"

She was referring to how the invisible string rituals always had to be performed by one of the four dragons whether that was the fire dragon, water dragon, thunder dragon, or the leviathan.
