Who would have thought that the Obsidian Soldier would have stage fright?

"Do I have to be on stage?" A young witch murmured, on the verge of complaining in front of a head witch. Coven Head Lilith Clawthorne grimaced at a mere glance towards her assistant, who was moping in the sidelines.

The esteemed Obsidian Soldier, who held the honor to assist the infamous Lilith Clawthorne, is scared to perform in front of a crowd? It doesn't make any sense! The sentence alone sounded preposterous to anyone who didn't know them. For the young soldier is also known for being closed-off to many, with a collective few lucky ones even catching a glimpse of their face.

One of the unfortunate to see how they are is Lilith herself.

"For Titan's sake," Lilith sighed deeply, pinching the bridge of her nose. As much as she held more respect for them compared to the Golden Brat, Lilith found herself wishing that he took their place. At least the boy could happily speak in front of crowds with such pride.

Seems like the soldier turned out to be a bit too much like their mentor.

Another sigh escaped her lips. No, she shouldn't be thinking that. As a matter of fact, she preferred this one more than the brat himself. At least they were more tolerable.

"Just... say something, at least?"
One small request from Lilith. How hard could it be?

"Hello Bonesborough!"
Did Principal Bump have to start this early!?

"Students ask me all the time: Principal Bump, what's the height of magical achievement?"

Thank the Titan himself that the Obsidian Soldier decided to not remove their mask for once. They really didn't want their possible nervous look to be spotted. That would just be so embarrassing!

"I can do this..." Mutters of reassurance could do the trick. "I can do this! I came this far, I'm not letting some stupid audience get to me!"

"Wow, I failed you as a principal..."

"Very good," Lilith showered them with a bit of praise, patting their shoulders. The young soldier sighed in relief. Thank the Titan once again for being on Lilith's good side.

"It's being selected to join the best of the best!"

"Don't mess up, young Mx." Lilith's request sounded more like a demand. But the soldier was already aware not to mess up. Even if it's something as little as this. It's not like they had much room left for failure.

Failure. The word alone could be the equivalent to Grom in their lens.

Breath in. Breath out. They'll be back to resuming their usual missions after all this is over.
They'll be fine.
