'So much for not being seen' I thought as I turned around.
When I was fully turned I sighed in utter relief when I saw a curious little girl, who couldn't have been over the age of 6. Knowing she only stopped me for one reason I said to her.
"She's friendly you can pet him if you'd like," Before I could finish my sentence she was already on the ground petting Omega who seemed to enjoy it way more than when I did it. 'Traitor ' I thought vaguely, smiling at the moment.
"His name is Omega ," I said to the curious child.
" Hi Omega!" she exclaimed. "My names Emma," she said, speaking as if she was having a full conversation with the animal.
"Emma! Where did you run off to this time?," An rough looking woman with a bandana and scared eyes yelled from down the street. 'They're going to get me caught' I thought in a panic, ushering the child back to what seems to be her mother.
"Hey! What are you doing to my sister you creep?" she yelled obviously trying to alert the nearby authorities.
"Nothing lady, she was just petting the dog. If you would keep your eyes on her you wouldn't have to wonder what I was doing to her," I hissed as I turned and continued walking.
"Hey wait!," Is there any way I can access her mute button because this is ridiculous.
"What?!? What could you possibly want from me?" I turned whisper yelling.
" I just wanted to apologize for assuming things about you," She said, eyeing the ground like it's the most interesting thing in the world.
"You're good alright, she's a pretty well behaved kid so it wasn't a hassle," I said, turning to leave before I was interrupted yet again. ' We'll never make it Kendricks house for Omega's meds' I thought, rolling my eyes before turning around completely annoyed.
" Sorry I just thought that I'd invite you to dinner, and before you decline our third canceled on us, again, so if you can could-,"
"Alright," I said, interrupting her little rant.
"Here's the my number if you text me around 6pm I'll give you the address-"
"Malcolm," I supplied, seeing she was struggling.
"Malcolm, okay well hopefully we'll see you later then,"
"Yup," I said practically sprinting away before she could say anything else. ' I didn't know the NCP's could be so clumsy and imperfect' my robot half said with a certain level of curiosity I didn't like, 'don't even think about it we're just going for dinner because we never turn down food for Omega' I remarked 'mhmm' 'mhmm what's that supposed to mean we are' 'you have reached your destination' he said loudly just to annoy me.
I went up the steps to the two story townhouse Kendrick lived in and scanned my eye and hand-chip then waited for Kendrick to open the door for me. As I waited I crouched down to pet Omega. Hearing the door open I stood.
"Mac, here for Omega's meds" Kendrick said, turning back into the house.
"Yeah he's starting to zone out again," I said, taking my jacket off.
" You know you should just let her give into the system, it'll be less of a hassle," Kendrick said going into his lab.
"And have an emotionless, weirdo dog no thank you I love Omega as he is" I chuckled petting behind his ear.
Hearing a bang on the door me and Omega jolted out of the calm state we were in.
"Did you invite anyone," I asked, narrowing my eyes to the voices on the other side of the door before remembering that my x-ray vision doesn't work in his tech-enhanced house.
"I was going to ask you the same question,"
