Maya Harris is constantly shadowed by her friends,
Leo Jackson, however, is the top spot in his and Maya's friend group.
With their friends Juliana Roberts, Dylan Reid and Joy Brown, life could turn better or worse. Especially when unresolved and un...
It was early morning when Maya woke up, the New York skyline glistened in the sunrise. She stretched her arms and let out a soft yawn, she was used to waking up early. She climbed out of her bed and went to her ensuite bathroom. Yes it seems like she's rich, she's just well off. She turned her music on to have a shower and got ready for another hopeless, tiring school day at The New York Central School. They were recently learning about Hamilton and the sex scandal, but back to our story.
~Wig Wam Bam~ by Sweet turned on and Maya immediately started singing the words,
"Hiawatha didn't bother too much,
About Minnehaha and her tender touch,
'Til she took him to the silver stream-" Maya sang along, quietly of course. She didn't want to wake her step siblings and step mother, her father was already at work.
Maya's step mother was a tall proud woman, with tanned skin and long brown hair, she was 30 years of age with 3 children and pregnant. Her father, 34, was in love with his new wife, ignoring his daughters sadness about the recent death of her mother. After the blonde woman died her father immediately married to the woman he was having an affair with. And so, their families merged. Her father worked for a big business corporation thing, Maya had no idea.
Her oldest step brother James was 19 and still lived with them. Her stepmother was angry at this, she didn't want her oldest son to be a failure, he already was though. He vaped around 12 times every 3 hours, it was terrible. And he was an underage drinker, he also was horrible to his last girlfriend who, because of him, had committed suicide and left her single, infertile mother alone.
Her step sister was Lily-Grace, 2 years younger than her, being 13, she had straight dark brown hair and large, sweet green eyes. She was the goody-two-shoes in the house and everyone, except Maya and James, loved her. She was obsessed with stuff like Twilight, Vampire Diaries, Little Mix and Ariana Grande. Maya resented her for her girly-girly attitude and soft voice she used to speak to grown-ups.
Her youngest step sibling was Dylan, who was 8. Yes, he did have the same name as her friend Dylan. But it's fine. He had big blue eyes like his brother and short blonde/brown hair. He loved dinosaurs and race trucks, classic 8 year old boy. Everyone also loved him, he was Maya's favourite sibling. Her step mother, like I said, was pregnant with Maya's fathers and her baby. She was 8 months and it was another little boy.
As Maya made her way to Starbucks in her knicks hoodie and Nike shorts she thought of her friends.
They reminded her of the classic friend group from f.r.i.e.n.d.s, she was Rachel, Juliana was Monica, Dylan was Chandler, Leo was obviously Joey and Joy was Pheobe. But romance was out of the question for them.
Except it wasn't, she knew Dylan and Juliana had feelings for one another and Joy had a girlfriend, her name was Reyna Forbes and she sat next to her in Chem. But Maya couldn't help but feel attracted to Leo, the fifteen year old not only looked stunning, but had always been there to help and care for her. Especially after her mother's death, but she hid her feelings and went on loving every terrible day, because her friends were there.
