[163] MARRIED FOR HIS SON - MAY 18 2024

Jimin's mom is Jungkook's aunt's friend. The aunt likes Jimin for Jungkook and tells his family and they are also interested.

Jungkook wasn't.

He is finally setting up his career, that too with his son, well his adopted son - Jungkook adopted his nephew Jihyun as his son after his brother and partner passes away in an accident. But it wasn't easy to do things by himself - the work pressures and need to keep Jihyun happy and safe always didn't go hand in hand. That's why his family thought marrying Jimin would actually work well for Jungkook but the man wasn't in the right headspace for a marriage. Jungkook could only resist so much before he finally agrees to the marriage, his mom had threatened to take Jihyun away from him (as she could see Jungkook couldn't manage everything by himself) if he didn't agree and Jungkook couldn't take it. He would do anything for Jihyun.

Jimin knew why Jungkook was marrying him and still he agreed because he too didn't want to marry anyone but emotional blackmail by his mother worked. Jimin was in awe of the bond between the uncle and nephew duo and slowly fell for Jungkook. Jungkook was cold towards Jimin but for his nephew he was the cutest bunny. Jimin couldn't resist the feelings especially when Jungkook took care of his needs even if they didn't talk much more than the basic necessity - for example picking him up from work if the forecast said it would rain that day or taking Jimin shopping for any event coming up or buying his favorite snacks - all these without Jimin asking - it means Jungkook cared about him right?

"No, I just do those things as an obligation... I have no feelings for you whatsoever so please stop acting like my husband. I told you it burdens me to have you wait for me or do things for me.. you are just here for Jihyun ..stay in your limits"

Jimin did everything he could to make Jungkook fall for him but it seems it only burdened Jungkook and after talking about their relationship Jimin understood that Jungkook isn't going to love him back. Jimin and Jungkook separate as the courts want them to try counseling and then decide about divorce after 6 months, but Jimin still talks to Jihyun through calls made by their house maid.

Jimin slowly distances himself from Jihyun telling the boy that he has a long business trip or a month-long educational course and the network there wasn't great. He did it because he wanted Jihyun to get used to not having Jimin in the house.

It worked for a while, Jihyun understood the busy lives of his parents but then one day he spots Jimin in BT21 town and he runs away from his maid to catch up to Jimin

"Appa!" Jihyun shouts and just as Jimin turns around hearing someone familiar, Jihyun slips on the water on the ground and hits his head on the pavement. Jimin rushes over and helps the boy to the hospital

The maid informs Jungkook about what had happened and Jungkook comes to the hospital. Jihyun is fine but he is crying as he begged Jimin not to leave

"Appa did I do something wrong? You said you are out of town but you are here...."

Jimin didn't know what to say but both the adult's heart ached watching the boy cry

Jungkook pulls Jimin aside after Jimin managed to calm Jihyun down

"Come back home"

"I won't. That isn't a home for me anymore"

Jungkook sighs, still adamant not to admit that he held feelings for the tiny boy in front of him

"Jihyun needs you. Can't you see how badly he is hurt?"

Jimin agrees.

Jungkook watches the two people in his life play and laugh in Jihyun's room. He can't help the smile that appears on his face. He had missed this so much - missed his tiny husband that cared about him. He didn't realize what he was missing till he lost it. He had always wanted to bring Jimin back, that's why he didn't file the divorce and told Jimin a lie about the 6 month period but Jimin still chose to stay separately so Jungkook wanted time to earn Jimin's forgiveness. He had tried to talk to Jimin but the boy always just talked about Jihyun and cut the call without letting Jungkook talk further. Jimin did it because he didn't want to fall for Jungkook more than he already had and Jungkook wasn't good with his feelings - he didn't know how to express in words what he felt for Jimin. And like that their communication sucked and their relationship just stayed the same, no matter how much they both wished it wasn't like that

A week has passed by after Jimin started living with them again

Jungkook searches for the boy and finds Jimin on their balcony watching the moon

Jungkook instinctively walks up to Jimin and back hugs him, scaring him

"Please stay..." Jungkook whispers into Jimin's ears

Jimin's heart picks up pace at that. The two stay like that for a moment, taking in each other's warmth in the otherwise cool breeze weather

"I..." Jungkook's voice brings Jimin back to reality "....is it too late to apologize and admit that I love you?"

Jimin's breath hitches

"Jiminah... I really love you..." Jungkook turns him around, his eyes glistening with unshed tears "....please be my husband again"

"Jungkook..." Jimin sighs ".. if it's because of Jihyun then I also love him and I will do anything for his happiness..."

Jungkook smiles painfully

"It's not about him... I genuinely love you... it just took me a while to understand that .... please give me a chance..."

Jungkook kisses the boy's hand, a tear falling on Jimin's hand - the kiss lingering a bit longer than a moment

"Please..."

Jimin nods his head slightly making Jungkook sob as he pulls the boy into a hug

"Thank you... I love you..."

"I love you too... please don't break my heart this time..."

"Never" Jungkook says kissing Jimin's head
