Dave was perched comfortably upon his surfboard, his legs engulfed in the bitter ocean water as the soft waves lulled the board in a gentle rocking motion. On his face where his shades, which almost never left him unless he was sleeping. He was wearing baggy, pearl white swim shorts, which were dampened, and his torso and feet were lacking clothing, with the acceptation of a necklace which hung around his neck. At the end of it was a shark tooth, somewhat lightly yellow at the base. The salty water had dampened his dirty blonde locks of hair, and they clung to his neck. He had been surfing for at least half an hour or so, and the young lad was tired from doing so. He was taking a break to regain his breathing to it's normal pace, and also for a decent wave to come.
The sun beat down on his skin, warming it up to an almost unbearable heat. The salty breeze gently ruffled his blonde locks, relaxing him as the cold wind slithered past his neck, the water also cooling him down as it swallowed his legs up to his thighs. His whole body was hot, and sweat coated his forehead and torso. Laughter and chatter of children filled the air along with the cries of circling gulls, looking for a possible meal. He wiggled his toes lightly underneath the water, glancing down. It was rather murky, and wasn't as clear a blue as it used to be. Dave guessed it was due to shitty pollution and such.
He was a regular visitor to the area; and came here for the occasional lounge. The soft waves and the sun that basked the sand comforted him in an unexplainable way, and that's what kept him coming back everyday. Bro was fine with that; the beach was the only thing that lulled him out of the house, as Dave practically lived in the apartment. If he hadn't discovered how he was naturally talented at surfboarding, Dave would have spent his valuable summer days cooped up in his room.
He raised his hand and ran it through his thick blonde hair, his brilliant red eyes softly skimming the horizon as he took in the area that surrounded him. There were a few rock pools to his left which built out from the water surface, and a small cave there, too. It intrigued him slightly. He'd have to check that area out later on in the day.
At the sound of splashing shattering the tranquillity and silence, he would quickly turn around, just managing to see a vibrant blue fin disappear into the ocean, being engulfed by the water. He narrowed his eyes at the sight. Abruptly the water churned up beside him, and something surfaced, causing a large wave and water to splash everywhere. His eyes widened as his surfboard flipped over, and he desperately clawed at it, trying to get back onto it. "Nonono W-wait!-" He screeched as he fell into the water, his eyes scrunching closed.
The bitter water engulfed him, and all he could feel was the cold.
