Prodigy

I couldn't help but notice how cute he was as he spoke. There was such a fire in his eyes that showed he was determined to do anything to keep both me and Zelda safe.

"We should probably go back to the old lady at the Sealed Grounds. She told me to come back to her after I bathed in the Skyview Spring, but I never got the chance to."

"Okay, sounds good to me."

There he was. My cute little happy-go-lucky Link with the sweetest smile and kindest laugh. I loved this boy so much. If only he liked me back.

I went to walk but Link pulled me back into him and scooped me up in his arms.

A massive blush spread across my face to my pointy ears.

"Link? What are you doing?" I asked as he began walking to the exit.

"Carrying you."

"I can walk."

"I just want to make sure. I meant what I said earlier, I'm never going to let you get hurt ever again." He said then he kissed my hair.

Oh Hylia, this boy really made my heart melt.

Once we had gotten to the Sealed Grounds, Link and the old lady spoke while I listened. I think she was telling him what he should do, and about not being too hard on Impa. I wasn't really paying attention all that much since I had so much going through my mind.

The Earth Spring made things so much clearer to me. I wasn't too sure if that was a good thing or not. For one, I understood more of the part I was to play in this. However, I also felt like I couldn't hurt Ghirahim. I loved him or at least I used to.

Based on what Impa told me I shouldn't have. But love is never logical.

You don't choose who you love. It just happens and even after all this time I still loved him.

Fi then appeared out of Link's sword in a ray of blue and purple light. She faced me with her emotionless face. That's when it hit me.

"I will call her, Fi." Soleil said as she held out the Goddess Sword.

"My lady, I have never seen a sword so elegant and powerful in all my eons of existence."

"And it's likely you never will again, Eldin."

"May I?"

"Of course," she said holding the sword up for the massive fire dragon.

Eldin then tapped the gemstone with a single talon from his hand, and sparks of red, orange, and yellow erupted from the blade. It took a moment, but the blade was now glowing an iridescent blue.

As the sword spirit was of his domain, it was his blessing that blessed the blade.

"What will you do now?"

Eldin swam back into his stream of lava by the goddess. His head staring at the tiny woman. It was moments like this that he was reminded of how small she was in comparison to him. How it was his job to look after and protect her even if she didn't want him to.

"I will have her laid to rest until the time is ready. Fi will gain strength if bathed in sacred power. Although, I fear that I am running out of time."

Eldin closed his eyes in search of what to say. He felt so hopeless. That's an emotion that a great fire dragon like himself almost never felt. He wanted to protect her so badly, but he knew he did not have that power.

"Will I ever see you again, my lady?"

Soleil saddened at the desperation in his voice. She was very close with the fire dragon of Eldin Providence, so this goodbye hurt a little extra.

"I'm afraid not in this life, my friend. My time is almost up, and this is probably one of the last things I will do."

"I am honored you spent your last moments with me."

"As am I."

Eldin propped his head closer to where she stood on the rocks surrounding the lava stream. In that moment, she reached out and touched his forehead to hers. This was her little way of saying goodbye to her old friend.

As their foreheads touched, she decided to show him the future.

He saw glimpses of what horrors were to come. He saw Hylia sealing Demise and her plan of saving the land from his malice. Then he got to see what part he played in aiding the chosen hero.

"I will do my very best in your honor."

"I know you will," she said with a weak smile.

"I hope to see you in your mortal form."

"I hope so too, Eldin."
