My solace [A Hiei love story]

Dezmar

Alanna's pov:

At 6:30 in the morning, I tap my foot at the clearing of the forest waiting for the rest to arrive. Where the hell could they be? My legs hurt! I shake my head and decide to chat in the group chat. As I was about to send a message, I hear the sound of footsteps and yawning. I look up and see that it was them. I pocket my phone and walk up to them.

"Gee, what took you all so long? I've been waiting for 30 minutes! I even thought I was late!" I scold and shake my head. "Whatever, you all got everything you need?" I ask to which they all nod.

I look at Hiei and notice that he's not carrying anything. "You're not bringing anything? No toothbrush or something? Money? Nothing's free ya know. And don't even try stealing." I speak firmly to which he scoffs at. "Hn." he speaks and takes out a card from his pocket briefly showing me before putting it back and walking away further into the forest.

"Where did he..?" I start before Kurama cuts me off answering me. "Koenma gave it. He says it's enough to cover for a few days for us to get a job." "Ah, I see. Well let's get going before these two actually fall asleep." I nod towards the faint lilac light deeper in the forest.

We step inside the portal and get transported to just infront of the gates of Dezmar. I greet the security guard a nod and he returns the gesture as we step into Dezmar.

I walk to a path that leads to the most populated village in Dezmar. I lead them to a fairly large house right infront of mine that's been vacant for a few months.

"You all will be roommates and live here. Until, well, three of you get jobs and manage to find a new place to live in." I say calmy while opening the door and leading them in. "Feel free to look around the town and pm me if you need anything. Spare keys are here." I smile at them before leaving the house.

After a few hours or so, I get a notification from my phone. It's from my best friend, Elaina. I open the chat and roll my eyes playfully at her chat. I have a feeling she found someone 'hot' again.

I sigh and shake my head muttering the words "I knew it" under my breath.

I nearly trip over my own feet when I read red hair and green eyes. She saw Kurama, I see. Well at least it's someone I could trust her with.

I grin cheekily and sit down on a bench and tell her to meet me here. It wasn't long before I found her waving her phone at me and sitting beside me. "Okay now you HAVE to tell me who he is. Please please please introduce me!" Elaina says practically begging which makes me laugh at her. "Dont laugh at me and tell me who he is!"

"Yea yea yea, his name is Kurama. He just arrived today. Would youu perhaps like me to introduce you to him?" I say emphasizing the last sentence knowing I could get more than just lunch from this. "Yes!!!!" she said. "I'll buy you whatever you like from the food stalls." she speaks which makes me grin. That's what I like to hear.

Kurama's pov:

It is around 2:10 in the afternoon when I get a text from an unknown number. I raise a brow and open the chat skeptically.

I tilt my head in curiosity wondering how this person — whoever they are, got my number.

"Well, I'll see how it goes." I mutter under my breath with a smile and pocket my phone before going on with my day.
