The Bird Scene

“Honey Bear!” Beau’s energetic voice ran through Andre’s phone, the sound of his voice lighting up both Andre and Robbie who were standing together

“Hey, Barbie,” Andre replied, chuckling at his friend’s positive energy which radiated even through his phone,”Rob’s here too,” he told him, earning a squeal

“Hi, Barbie,” Robbie said shyly, a soft smile on his lips

“Omg, Robbie, I missed you guys so much,” Beau told them brightly, and then gasped,”Dad said there was a new girl, is she nice?” he questioned

“Yeah, she’s cool and her voice his fire,” Andre answered truthfully, nodding though Beau couldn’t see him

“Totally electric,” Robbie chimed in, causing Andre to side eye him as Beau giggled

“Sounds fun. I don’t think I’ve ever heard an eclectic voice before, Robbie,” Beau joked, then sighed,”Well, I gotta go but I’ll see you guys soon,” he told them

“Bye,” The boys said in sync as Beau hung up

“I can’t wait til he gets back” Robbie mumbled, his happiness dimming slightly as Beau ‘presence’ left them

“Yeah, he makes being stuck with you bearable,” Rex drawled, causing both boys to roll their eyes

“That’s not true,” Robbie protested as Andre sighed,”It’s not. I’m a joy to be around, right Andre?” he questioned, making Andre wince

“Hey, can you guys help me?” Tori asked, catching their attention as they both went over to her locker to help her pack her stuff into it

Later that day, Beck and Andre made their way to the Asphalt Café, sitting at their usual table which already holds Robbie and as always, Rex.

"Hey, guys, " Robbie greets, then glances in the direction they just came from and frowns slightly in confusion,"I thought Tori was gonna eat with us?"

"Ha!" Rex interjects. "She probably said no when she realized you would be here"

"She did not!" Robbie protests, causing Beck and Andre to roll their eyes at the boy used to his antics

"Sikowitz wanted to talk to her," Andre tells him, not even blinking at the side conversation between boy and puppet

“It’s more than likely for the bird scene,” Beck said, earning nods

“You think she’ll make it on her first try?” Robbie asked, only to gain chuckles and shaking heads

“Oh, definitely not,” Beck replied, nothing but amusement on his face

“Yeah, dude no one makes it on their first try,” Andre added, shaking his head

“Except Barbie,” Rex chimed in

“That’s true,” Robbie lit up at the mention of his best friend,”But he’s Sikowitz son, we should’ve expected that from him,” he said with a chuckle

“You guys know when he’s coming back?” Beck asked,his usual mellow attitude changing slightly

“No, but he said soon,” Andre told him, causing Beck to deflate,”But maybe he’ll come back Thursday, he usually always comes back on Thursday’s,” he said

“Except the one time he came back on Friday,” Beck cut in, tilting his head

“Oh, yeah,” Andre replied slowly as he thought back on that day,”That was a weird day,” he mumbled, shaking his head
