Pretty much I write by random. Get some random inspiration, write it down, then post it here. If that random inspiration also comes from requests, I wouldn't mind that.
9/10 of the characters I write about, I have seen or read the show/book for. I write mostly anime characters but that won't be all of it at least. I have watched a great many animes (unfortunately) so this is pretty various in characters. This also includes game characters!
Now mind you I do write maturely. Some will be intense, some only partly intense, and some can just be pure romance and story. (Depends on my motivation tbh.) Personally I am a person more indulged on the romance aspect, so generally the stories won't be so heavily involving NSFW. (I say that and yet the first two pages I have..fuck it we ball.)
One thing I would like to mention is that I'm not going to be writing anything I myself am not comfortable with. There are a few things I will let slide, but here are examples I will not. Forced intimacy/pressured, child intimacy (unless aged up but that's still iffy.) Or suicide/self harm.
