I was young, naive, and unloved or at least, that's how it felt. Technically, I had a family, but we weren't like a normal one. My mother and father split when I was still a child, too busy fighting over the house and who got what to even think about me. Neither of them wanted custody. So, I ended up in foster care.

By the time I turned eighteen, I was aged out and tossed to the curb. Now, at twenty-one, I'm still drifting, trying to find where I belong. I've done every odd job you can think of housesitting, pet-sitting, yard work, cleaning gutters, holding signs on corners, even scrubbing toilets just to survive. Most nights, I couch-surf. If I'm lucky, I stay in the homes I sit for, rent-free.

On paper, it might look like I have things figured out. But most nights, I lie awake, wondering why I never had the kind of family other people do.

All of that changed when I met her a girl my age, kind, welcoming, and just as alone as I was. Or so I thought. I didn't know it then but meeting her would set everything in motion. The trap was already being laid. And soon... we all would be deceived.

Authors notes- I will give out a trigger warning when it comes to the story I am writing. it will have mentions of abuse of all sorts and gruesome details of killings of animals and later on humans. this is a story about a cult so please keep that in mind. I hope you enjoy the read and I will try to release a new chapter every week thank you so much for reading. I am not a perfect author I'm far from it but these are just stories I either randomly think of or a reoccurring dream that I need out of my head
