Authors Note: Hello, the picture is of Claudiu with wind blown hair. Happy reading.

"Oh my God." Ailey panted as she was lowered to the ground.

She cupped her mouth as Claudiu took a step back. His hair was now wind blown and sat messily around his face. Claudiu had taken her to the balcony of a grand castle. Ailey recognized it as one of the old castle's still kept in contact. She had been to a museum for one but she had never seen this one before.

Ailey looked out and observed the woods surrounding the castle. Past the woods she could see the lights of the town. They had flown all the way here. She was clearly loosing her mind. She heard Claudiu clear his throat behind her and Ailey spun around to face him.

The moonlight glowed on his pale face giving him a ghostly look. Yet, his features looked perfectly elegant and serene. Ailey trembled.

"What's going on?" She finally asked "Who were those men? What did they want from me?"

"Calm down." Claudiu said "I'll tell you everything." He backed up toward the large glass doors leading to the balcony. "Come inside."

Ailey shook her head and backed up into the railing. Claudiu stepped forward with an outstretched hand. Ailey looked at it tentatively.

"You can trust me." He promised

"Tell me what's going on." Ailey gripped the edge of the railing.

Claudiu paused as if considering his options and then lowers his hand.

"Those men who attacked you were werewolves."

Ailey scoffed. Of course they were. Of course this was happening.

"What did they want with me?"

Claudiu crossed his arms and sighed. "Apparently they think you have something to do with the Jewel."

"What's that?"

Claudiu shook his head. "It's just an artifact."

"Why would I have anything to do with it?"

Claudiu stepped closer and appeared to be in deep thought. He studied Ailey's features and then scoffed.

"It's dangerous." He said almost to himself "They'll come back for you."

"What?"

Claudiu growled something under his breath and pinched the bridge of his nose. He sighed and stroked his hair away from his face. His ran his fingers down his face.

"I'm afraid you're going to have to stay here." Claudiu said with his hand covering his face "Until things are cleared up."

Ailey shook her head. "I can't stay here. I attend the university. I can't miss any of my classes."

For a moment Claudiu looked sympathetic.

"I'm sorry," he said "Please come inside. Your wounds have to be tended too."

Ailey looked down at her scrapped legs. She had forgotten about the pain for a moment. Ailey gingerly stepped forward and let Claudiu lead her inside. He lead her to a dark couch in front of a fireplace. Claudiu moved to the fireplace and and turned in on. In a flash he vanished from the room and reappeared with supplies to tend to Ailey's wounds. She jumped when he reappeared in front of her.

Claudiu knelt down and placed a wide bowl of water at her feet. In the other hand he held a towel and bandages. He looked up at her and in the firelight his eyes appeared to be amber.

"May I?" He asked politely

Ailey nodded and Claudiu removed her heels and set them aside before dipping the towel in the water. He stroked her skin gently and tapped on certain areas. Ailey's eyes were glued to his every movement. The water in the bowl was dyed red from the stained towel as Claudiu redipped the towel.
