He is sitting right in front of me in the limo. His fingers holding his head. He might be suffering from a headache. I hope it’s not because he must share this space with me.

“Now what is that supposed to mean?” he replied after picking up the phone call.

I couldn’t hear the other party, so I had no idea what was going on.

“So, I’m not even allowed to visit the main house?” he outraged

“How many days?” he asked, trying to hold his rage

He looked at me, straight in my eyes

“So, you are saying, I have to spend at least 6 months with this vile, disgusting creature in that house”?

Vile disgusting creature? Sure, am I that hateful? But what is he saying? 6 months? In which house?

I’m not aware of this setting. What’s going on, I’m not prior informed on this.

I can’t even ask him. He would call me again by some abominate name.

“I won’t be following any of it” He lashed out

“Fuck it” he hung up the call

He looked at me “You are ruining my life” said totally frustrated

I didn’t even do anything.

As the crimson hues of the setting sun painted the sky, the limo pulled over; the driver opened the gate. It is a somewhat desolate place. I couldn’t see any other house around it other than the one I'm standing in front of. This cottage, adorned with ivy climbing its stone walls and a welcoming front porch, It’s beautiful. But why are we here? I stepped out

“Madam, your luggage is already delivered” the driver informed

What? Why in this small cottage? I look at him for an explanation, but he just stepped out and went straight inside. He just left me standing there in my wedding dress. How worse can it get?

“Why are we here” I asked the driver

“Madam, I was only ordered to drop you here, I’m not aware about anything else. I apologies”

“It’s okay, you can leave” I tell him

“Thankyou” he said

Now I need to figure out what with this place. I stepped in, the gravel crunching softly beneath my feet as I approached the front door. A gentle breeze whispered through the trees, carrying the sweet scent of wildflowers. As I reached the doorknob, I felt it opening from inside.

revealing the warm glow of lamplight spilling into the foyer. The interior of the cottage was bathed in a soft, welcoming light, casting shadows that danced across the walls.

Oh, it was much bigger than it looked from outside. Thank God.

All house maids were standing in two lines with a greeting position, the one in front looked like the head maid. Aged and sensible.

“I hope you had a safe and pleasant trip” she greeted

“Yes, it was” I answered

“Your room and dinner are ready” she said

“You must be well aware of what’s going on right?”

“What do you mean, Mistress?”

“It doesn’t look like the main house. Why are we here?” I asked

“It’s a long tradition of The Aron family. The new couple of the direct descendant line must spend at least 6 months in this cottage after the wedding” She explained

“Is there anything else I need to know?”

“The couple must spend every night in this house, no matter what.”

“What does that mean? We can’t go out?” doubted I asked

“It’s your free will, but you guys need to come back every night, as the purpose of it is meeting every day is compulsory no matter how busy the couple gets”

“Hmm...understandable, to build marital relationships, right?”

“correct” she said

Well, it’s a good strategy.

“Show me the room”

She started guiding, we went up the stairs, she guided me to the couple's bedroom.
