Author's POV

"Marry me Ruhanika" he said looking straight into her eyes

"Huh?" A dumbfounded Ruhanika could only mutter this much after receiving the biggest shock of her life.

Abhimaan understood by seeing her expression that this girl hadn't grabbed a single thing in her mind.

He took slow steps near her and once again said the same thing looking into her eyes

"Marry me Ruhanika"

Hearing the same thing once again, Ruhanika broke into fits of laughter.

"Sir, April chala gaya, next year lautega. Yeh May hai, aab kaun april fool manate hai?" She said laughter, which was obviously fake. In her mind, she was praying God that whatever she heard was wrong.

Abhimaan, on the other hand expected some kind of similar reaction from her, and why not? Anyone would behave the same hearing a sudden marriage proposal

"Main serious hoon Ruhanika" Just this sentence was enough to pull her out of her fake acting session. She stared directly in his eyes and Said,

"Dekhiye, apko kahi galat fehmi ho rahi hai. Aap jo bhi soch rahe hai mere bare mein, let me clarify it, main waisa nahi hoon. Aap mere boss ho, you're my employer, aur main kabhi apke baare mein aisa waisa kuch nahi socha hoon. Hell, office pe jaha sab appe marte hai, maine kabhi apki taraf uss nazron se nahi dekha hoon. Please, I think there's some misunderstanding here" she said the whole thing in a single breath

"There's no misunderstanding here Ruhanika. I know ki tum kabhi mujhe uss nazron se kya, kissi bhi nazron se nahi dekhi ho. I know it. Par na chahte hue bhi, meri nazre tum par pari hai Ruhanika, waise nazre jisse maine aaj tak kissi ko nahi dekha, except my family, jo hai respect and trust." He uttered each word with sincerity

"matlab?" She asked confused

"From when Vaani joined the office, hamare ghar mein, aisa ek bhi din nahi raha jaha tumhare baare mein baat na ho. Vaani is crazy about you. She admires you so much ki uski baat sunte sunte Kunal bhi tumhare fan ban gaya. Chachu, chachu aur Maa, tumhe pehli baar award show mein dekha, aur ban gaye tumhare fan. Mandir mein maa tumse mili, ghar aake, she accepted for her therapy sessions. And the fact, ki maa chahti hai tumhe apni bahu banana. Think it as an arrange marriage proposal if you want Ruhanika, but I want to marry you, not just to fulfill my family's wish, but for my wish also. Maine hamesha ek aisa ladki ko chaha hai jo family aur logon ko value karna janti ho. And what else I have wanted, is there within you Ruhanika." He completed

Ruhanika was flustered and shocked at the same time. Never in her life she thought a day will come where she will be getting a marriage proposal that also from the most eligible bachelor of the country. She stood frozen, fighting over the fact what to do within herself.

Her trance was broken by Abhimaan saying

"Take time if you want Ruhanika. But I hope you will think over the fact quite well. I'll... We'll will be waiting for your ans....."

"I'm ready" Ruhanika muttered cutting him off.

She really doesn't know what she thought and said 'yes', but she only knew that the family love and care she wanted all her life, her heart said that she will get it here. Be it Shirsha's motherly love Or be it Vaani's care as a sister or be it the love she got from the whole family at the first meet, the only thing she knew was she would be getting that love here

"You sure?" Abhimaan asked

"Yes, but I want to clarify some certain things. First things first, for me in my eyes, I have never seen you differently other than my boss and it would take general amount of time to change my perception. Secondly, the sole reason for me accepting the proposal is the love, care and support I got from your family. You must be already knowing that I'm an orphan, brought up in an orphanage, so I've always craved for love, which I got from your family. Thirdly, for me, my self respect matters a lot, if anywhere I feel low of myself, I might back off and lastly, the last thing I would want is to announce it to the outer world." She said
