Tai paced back and forth in front of Davis who was sitting on his couch. "So Ken and the others are trapped in the Digital world?" Tai asked again. "YES! Tai I need your help... My D-3 isn't working and Veemon isn't here..". Tai thought for a moment "We have to deal with the Digimon situation here in the real world. We're not sure what's going on yet.".

Davis wiped some tears from his face with his sleeve while looking up at Tai "What..? You won't help me..?" Davis was crushed knowing what Tai meant. "Davis, I'm sorry... We need to focus on protecting this world." Davis wanted to not waste any time finding his team. He stood up and left.

Tai sighed and reached for his phone in his pocket. Searching his contacts he rang up Matt's number. Matt picked up after a few moments "Tai? Why are you calling me its almost midnight-" "It's Davis." Tai cut Matt off followed by a brief moment of silence. "Something happened to his team.." "I'll be right over." Matt's voice repeated in Tais's head when he hung up.

Tai stared at Matt's number on his phone, waiting for him to show up. Footsteps were heard outside the door followed by a knock. Tai opened the door for his friend to step inside. "So what's going on, Tai?"

As Matt walked in Tai closed the door before responding "Davis came to me crying." Matt turned and looked at Tai standing by the door "Davis? Something has to be seriously wrong then... that kid never cries." Matt was confused and concerned. Tai walked past Matt and sat on the couch with Matt following not far behind.

"Davis's team is stuck in the Digital world, he doesn't know if they're okay or not." Tai was straight to the point with what happened. "Okay, we're going to have to open a portal to the digital world and go get them".

Tai looked over at Matt, he knew he wouldn't like the words that were about to come out of his mouth but he said it anyway. "We can't. We have to focus on the infected Digimon here in the real world!" "WHAT? ARE YOU INSANE?"

Matt stood up from the couch and turned to face Tai. "Tai he's one of us. His team is all Digidestened. Aren't we supposed to look out for each other?" "Matt it's our duty to protect the digital world AND this world." Matt was astonished Tai could ever abandon any Digidestened. "It is also our duty... to protect each other."

Tai's eyes met Matt's and he saw the anger in them. "I am protecting you! Whatever happened to Ken, Yolei, and Cody is dangerous and I'm not going to let it take you! Or- Or anyone else." Tai didn't think before he spoke. Matt's expression softened, and his demeanor calmer "Your right. We can't lose more of us."

Matt sat back down on the couch next to Tai. The pair sat in silence not looking at each other "Soooo, protecting me, huh?" Tai's face became red with blush "SHUT UP!"

Davis arrived back home exhausted. His clothes were soaking wet from walking in the pouring rain. That rain mixed with his tears made it difficult for those around him to discern he was even crying at all. Jun was the only one still awake "Well look who's home!"

Davis closed the door behind him and began walking to his room. Jun turned around on the couch to face Davis as he walked past "You're going to be in big trouble you know! I'm telling Mom exactly when you got home!" Jun's words didn't even seem to affect her younger brother.

Jun noticed Davis was not acting like his normal self. He simply walked by reaching the door to his room. "Hey, Davis, are you okay?" Davis still did not respond to his sister as he just opened the door. Jun stood there as the door slammed in her face.

Throwing his jacket to the floor he let himself fall to the bed. With a shaky breath, he closed his eyes, he was so fatigued from his time in the digital world. The digital clock illuminated the number "12:45" in the darkness. Davis fell asleep nearly immediately due to the exhaustion.
