Alphabet

The Yegani alphabet doesn't have any specific ordering. The characters and symbols are based upon the phonetic feeling of the sound, and how the mouth and throat move to create it.

The pronunciation of these syllables is flexible, which makes the language diverse and colourful, but also makes it extremely difficult to learn for those who were not raised to speak it.

As mentioned earlier, these letters can mean multiple (but similar) sounds. (eg. the character for the "sj" or "zh" sound can also mean just a regular, sharp "s" sound.)

The Yegani language sounds phonetically similar to a mix of; Afrikaans, Arabic, Portuguese, Urdu, Tamil, Spanish, Samoan, Na'vi and Bulgarian.

Yegani grammar is very flexible, and in terms of word ordering, is slightly similar to Southern European languages like French or Spanish.

There are two variations of the Yegani language; Simplified, and traditional.

Traditional Yegani

In the realm of Yegani language, along with regular speech, there exists a profound tradition woven with the unique sounds that only Yeganis, with their remarkably flexible vocal cords, can produce. These vocalisations transcend the limitations of ordinary species, encompassing a diverse array of sounds that include clicks, whistles, trills, growls, hisses, purrs, and an assortment of others. These sounds are not merely linguistic elements but expressions of the deep connection Yeganis feel with their surroundings, echoing the rhythms of nature and the pulse of the universe.

Simplified Yegani

However, recognising the challenges that other species face in reproducing these intricate vocalisations, Yeganis devised the Simplified Yegani language. This adaptation preserves the essence of their linguistic heritage while accommodating the limitations of non-Yegani vocal anatomy. In Simplified Yegani, the impossible sounds are either replaced with more accessible alternatives or omitted altogether, ensuring that the language remains inclusive and accessible to all who wish to partake in its beauty. Yet, despite these modifications, Simplified Yegani retains the soulful essence and linguistic complexity that characterize traditional Yegani language, serving as a bridge that unites beings from diverse backgrounds in a shared communicative experience.
