S.O.S - ABBA

"You seem so far away though you are standing near
You made me feel alive, but something died I fear
I really tried to make it out
I wish I understood
What happened to our love? It used to be so good."

You know that feeling of oppression? That pang in your heart right before it starts racing at a speed so questionable you are undoubtedly sure it's going to burst out of your chest?

That need to take a deep breath when your lungs don't seem to be functioning properly, as if they are too unable to understand the severity of the situation.

And your brain is jumping from place to place, from escape plan to dismissive phrases, from words before spoken to those you suddenly die to say. From the sparkle in her captivating eyes to how flawless her bangs make her look.

No. It shouldn't think that.

But it does, and so I smile awkwardly at the woman standing before me too shy or uncertain to reach to shake my hand.

"Hi, Leah." It's all I mutter after some time. She smiled at me when I spoke as if she was relived I didn't ignore her

"How... I.. Sorry." My chuckle came out louder that I had intended and so her cheeks turned red in shame. "How have you been?"

A casual question, this time tinted with knowing. The knowledge that she was responsable of having drifted away to a point where we had become mere acquaintances.

"I've been... good. Sunny Catalonia works wonders in cheering you up." Sipping my coffee I saw her lips curve at the tips, her smile shy but mesmerizing

"Oh yeah... The sun did wonders on your tan." She spoke while looking at my face, her eyes tracing patters across my skin as if to remember every detail. "I mean... not like you needed or that your skin looks better. No! I mean, it looks better but not because it didn't before. I'm-"

Leah's rushed words accentuated her accent that always made me feel a warm wave on my stomach. I think all accents have that trick on me

However her face had scrunched to a point I thought she was about to faint and having already made her sweat, I ushered her to take the only available seat.

In front of me

"Leah, please sit down. I know you are not my fondest person right now but I'm sure we can have some coffee without mixing things." A polite smile across my face and with my hand extended, I motioned her to grab the menu

"Yeah, you're right." She muttered under her breath, her eyes to engrossed now on the beverage options

Minutes passed as I drowned my insecurities with my never ending coffee. Kiera and Lucy on their own conversation, some side glances had met my hard stare and it was enough for them to realize I had not forgotten their little set up

"I'll just have a cookie thanks." Leah's voice made me look again into her visage, now a much more relaxed expression painted her breathtaking face

I hated how attractive she was only wearing joggers and a trench coat

After finishing my last bit of coffee, I opted for not ordering a new one. Too much adrenaline already flowing through my body for six in the afternoon.
