Ayato's Pov

On the way back to the estate I am sitting watching the world outside through the carriage window
"Brother, what is on your mind?" I hear Ayaka ask me
"Nothing of importance, " I say

As the carriage reaches the estate I and Ayaka descend from the carriage and walk into the estate to be greeted by an excited Thoma

"Congratulations My Lord" he exclaims the other staff at the estate also start congratulating me. During this, I managed to slip away from the crowd and walk towards the graves of my parents. I kneel before them

"Mother, Father, remember when Father visited the Tenshukaku and came across the Princess? He didn't stop talking about how sweet she was. I am sure you would be glad to know, she has grown into a wonderful woman. And that she is to be your daughter-in-law in a few days."

"Yes, I am going to be engaged to the princess. I don't know if sending the proposal was the best decision. But I promise to care, keep her secure and provide for her just like how both of you taught"

I turn around, walk back to the estate, and see that all the celebration has ceased and everyone has gone to their jobs. I walked into my office chambers and finished some work that was remaining. That's when Thoma walked in and said
"My Lord, Lady Guuji has come."

"Let her come in," I say. And Thoma let's Lady Guuji into the office

"So you are finally getting married to your childhood crush" Lady Guuji says and my eyes widen in surprise
"Crush, what are you talking about?" I ask her completely knowing what she meant
"My, my. Is the Yashiro Rascal trying to act clueless??" She asks. Again with that name

"Lady Guuji, Fine I know what you are speaking about. I would appreciate it if you could keep it to yourself"I say and she waves he hand in the air like she is dismissing it. Can this fox ever stop?

"I will tell you the date for the engagement and marriage tomorrow. So I expect you and the princess at the Grand Narukami shrine." She says and I nod, she walks out after that.

I quickly send a word to Tenshukaku and go for the arataki gang's performance. I notice Kuki Shinobu standing at the corner of the stage. When she notices me she walks to me and goes

"Congratulations My Lord." She says. I thank her before she walks backstage.

"The Tenryou Commission is here" someone screams and everyone present there runs in different directions. In between the entire chaos, I slip out and go back to the estate to be welcomed by a worried Thoma

"My Lord where have you been" he asks

"Just some business," I say. Hiashi then appears
" My Lord the word has been delivered," he says and I nod and he leaves. I retire for the day. I close my eyes as I lay on the futon and all I see is her blue pair of eyes, the same eyes of the woman I will call my wife in a few days.

Next day

I wake up to bright sunlight falling on my face. I got up from the futon and started to get ready for the day when Thoma came in and said

"Greetings My Lord, The carriage to get The Lady has been sent, she will be arriving shortly"

"That is great news" I say as I wear my Haori and walk out of the room with Thoma behind me. I walk into the dining aera where Ayaka is already seated and take my place opposite her.

"Good morning Ayaka," I say greeting her

"Good morning brother, Are you visiting the Narukami shrine along with sister today" she asks
