Jujutsu High, Tokyo

(Y/n) was leaning against the doors of Jujutsu High schools front gate looking at the red Torii Gate's that lined the stairway up to the school

Maki, who was also at the school had been wandering the school grounds aimlessly walked past the main entrance and notice the special grade standing by himself

Seeing him alone and not trying to cause chaos intrigued her, more so then the feeling of dread she'd likely get from talking with him, so she walked over

Maki:what're you still doing at the school? Classes are canceled for the week.

(Y/n) grunted in slight surprise as he looked over his shoulder

(Y/n):oh...hey, I didn't notice you there.

Maki walked up alongside him and looked at the gates as well

(Y/n):I thought everyone would've been in either Shinjuku or Kyoto.

Maki:I assumed the same, then I find you loitering at the front gate.

(Y/n) sighed as he slowly took off his glasses and hid them away, his mood was surprisingly low energy compared to normal

(Y/n):So why aren't you with panda and toge in shinjuku?

Maki rolled her eyes

Maki:the higher ups didn't want a fourth grade sorcerer on the field.

(Y/n) glanced at her for a moment and remained silent for a brief moment

(Y/n):I see.

Maki stole a glance at her classmate

Maki:...go ahead, ask.

(Y/n):hmm? What's that?

He turned his head to her

Maki:I know you've been probably dying to ask about why I'm here, at the school I mean. I told you to start being more open with me, if I didn't do the same it would just make me a hypocrite, right?

(Y/n) didn't respond

Maki:you were right on the money when we'd first met. The Zenin clan only care about cursed techniques, so naturally they look down clan members without them.

A gentle gust of wind came blowing across the school as (y/n) stole a glance at maki with her hair in he wind

(Y/n):Yes...I'm sorry if bringing that up unearthed unpleasant memories...I'm sure growing up in a place like that must've been ruff.

Maki:I had a passing grade, if you can even call it that. They made me apart of the Kukuru Unit. It's a lower branch in the clan that's met requirements to undergo grueling training...but because of my pact I wasn't even respected with them even though none of their members have innate techniques.

(Y/n):I see. The Gojo clan would never have the numbers for something like that, they've always been so stingy about who marries into the clan.

Maki let out a faint, brief chuckle

Maki:is that so? Well at the very least you all meet the bare minimum requirements to be sorcerers.
