Yuta was sitting on a bench in the hallway with Satoru leaned against the wall beside him

Satoru:they say both maki and the kids are going to be fine.

Yuta:...that's a relief.

Satoru glanced at Yuta, he looked to be a mix of guilty and exhausted

Satoru:that's funny, you don't look very relieved to me.

Yuta looked at the ring that was still on his finger

Yuta:I did it, I managed to call Rika out by myself.

Satoru:my brother mentioned as much, it's a big step forward.

Yuta glanced up as one of the children he'd saved walked past them in a hospital gown, it reminded him how he'd met Rika in the hospital being treated for pneumonia

Rika:it's a promise. That when we grow up...we're going to get married to each other.

Yuta:okay! We'll be together, forever and ever. All the time.

Satoru noticed how his students eyes lingered on the hospitalized child

Satoru:you...okay?

Yuta snapped out of his daze and looked up at his teacher

Yuta:huh...? Oh yeah. I was just...remembering something.

He looked back at his ring

Yuta:I'm starting to think Rika didn't curse me after all. I think I might've been the one who cursed Rika.

Satoru stayed quiet for a moment

Satoru:you may very well be right. There's no curse more twisted than love.

That truth nearly brought Yuta to tears but he clenched his fists but it stoked the fires of his resolve

Yuta:alright...while I'm at jujutsu high...there's something I want to...no, that I need to learn. I will break rika's curse!

Satoru smirked

Meanwhile in one of the rooms down the hall, Maki was lying on her side in the hospital bed looking out the window at the beautiful orange sky as the sun started to set

Maki:*tch...I got saved again.*

She rolled over onto her back using her arm as a pillow

Maki:*well...at the very least it wasn't that white haired moron.*

She was frustrated but the fact it wasn't (y/n) to save her eased that feeling, but the sensation lingered in her mind

Male voice:maaaaakkkkiiiii!!

The door swung open as (y/n) leaned inside head first

(Y/n):daaanngg still in bed, since you're taking that crushing defeat so hard I brought some stuff from the school!
