Amertume - Bitterness

Start from the beginning

"Do you remember when you were born? I never wanted to let you out of my sight. Even at just two years old, Mom said I always cried when you weren't beside me. They bought me countless toys, but I never paid them any attention. All I wanted was to be with you, to watch over you. Hyung has always been so protective of you," he added with a soft chuckle, brushing away a stray tear.

"And I never wanted anyone else to get too close to you. I only allowed Jisung and Hy-Hyunjin near you. Hyung always wanted to keep you safe, no matter where you went. Even though I won't always be there with you, I want someone to look after you. Hyunjin used to be that person, but, Lixiee, people change."

His voice softened, filled with sadness as he continued, "I know it's hard for you to forget. You've been together since diapers, but baby, crying won't solve anything. You have to be strong. What if someone comes along one day who treats you like a princess?"

With a heavy heart, the younger shook his head, tears streaming down his cheeks. "N-no, Hyung," he sobbed, "I only want my Hyun." Blinking away his own tears, the older reached out, running his fingers through the younger one's hair in a comforting gesture.

"Baby," he whispered softly, "you've got to stay strong. Remember, we're all here for you, always by your side." He paused, his voice filled with sadness. "Moving on takes time, and it's okay to feel this way. But you've also got to take care of yourself, okay? How about we grab something to eat? Hyung's feeling hungry too, hmm?"

The younger nodded softly, tears still lingering in his eyes. The older managed a faint smile, his own eyes reflecting a mixture of sadness and determination as he rose to his feet. "Alright," he said, his voice gentle but firm, "let's get something to eat. Hyung will feed you."

Descending the stairs with the empty tray in hand, the chestnut-haired heard the front door click open, signaling the arrival of the brunette.  Jisung, with his clothes rumpled and hair tousled, approached Lino with concern evident in his eyes. "Hyung, how is he?" he asked, his voice tinged with worry.

Setting the tray down on the nearby table, the older closed the distance between them, brushing the younger's hair aside before pulling him into a tender kiss. As they parted, Lino gave a brief update on the younger's condition. "He's still the same, but he stopped crying a little and ate the food I gave him," he said softly, his gaze reflecting a mixture of emotions.

With a nod of understanding, the brunette stepped back, determination in his expression. "I'll go check up on him, and I won't be attending classes today," he declared, his voice filled with resolve.

Returning the nod, Lino smiled reassuringly at the younger. "Okay, go ahead. I've got some work in the dance studio, so I'll be heading there. You both take care, and make sure to eat your meals on time. Eomma and Appa had an urgent meeting, so they've left," he added, his tone gentle yet firm. With a quick wave and a nod, the brunette dashed upstairs to check on the younger, leaving the older to continue with his own tasks.

Quietly slipping into the room and closing the door behind him, the brunette made his way to the bed where the younger lay. With a sense of longing in his heart, he lay down beside him, wrapping his arms around him in a tight embrace. "Lixiee, hug me, I miss you," he whispered softly, his voice filled with affection.
