Chapter 1 Decisions made

Ukio:" What about your brother?"

Jasmin:" Don't mention him, he is even more heartless than father."

Ukio:"... That isn't true."

Jasmin: " Whatever it is true or you know it in your heart."

Ukio:"... Isn't there anything that can make you stay? Your father... he just can't deal with his emotions very well so he shuts them off. That doesn't mean that he isn't upset."

Jasmin: " I am 27 now and the times he has cared for me can be counted on one hand. I simply dont have the patience to be hurt by him any longer. I am sorry."

Hearing this Ukio can only let her go, but in her heart is very unwilling. Once she watched her daughter leave she took a big sigh to calm herself then she walked into the room to see her husband. Once she walked in the first thing she saw was Peirce drinking alcohol with frustration written all over him.

Peirce: " What do you want?" He asks her coldly, he knows that it is his wife without even looking and he purposely doesn't look.  

Ukio: " Are you really going to cut off our ties with our second daughter?"

Peirce:" She is the one who asked for it:"

Ukio: " That doesn't mean that you can just give up, i know that you love her. You just need to show her how much you care." 

Peirce: " I knew how to do you really think this would have happened? I can't feel upset about John since I have never really liked him. But he is a good soldier and a good man so I let him marry Jasmin. But I can never be emotionally attached to him like a father-in-law should, at most I can only care about him as his superior, nothing more."

He says that and once he senses that his wife has walked closer to him, he looks at her and knows what he is going to say so he puts up his hand and stops her.

Peirce: "Don't worry, I will still support and protect her in the dark. I will also pay the way for our grandchild. I will also not let the things that should belong to our grandchild be taken by others. But I will never let her know, becuse she has already abandoned our blood tie. I will never forgive her unless she herself knows her wrongs."

Hearing this Ukio doesn't know how to answer and what to feel. It is a mix of relief and sadness. And even some regret. She knows her daughter well, she would never apologize since she believes that she is right and from her perspective she is. It is not her fault that her father is stubborn and dont say his feelings out loud. This can only be resolved if Peirce himself takes the first step and with the way he is right now that is impossible. 

Once Jasmin came back home to the mention, she ignored evry servant who was worried for her and looked herself into her room. This is not the room she used to share with her husband but the room she slept in when she was too upset with him and wanted to sleep alone. She is not ready to enter that room yet, and from now on will always feel empty. She turns on the Television hologram (TVH) and leans his head against the bed as she sits on the floor. Now all she can do is weep out all her emotions in desperation. As her world has crumbled down. On the TVH she can hear the news about her husband's departure, honoring the loss of a War hero who is rumored to be the strongest S-class mecha operator the universe has ever seen. But to her right now that is just mumbling as she cries until there are no tears left to shed. During this time no one knew if she did not hear the worried knocks on the door by the servants or that she ignored them on purpose. But in the end, it did not matter as they were helpless. So they could only wait for her. Becuse as servants, unless their master is suspected to be in danger they are not allowed to go in. 

After 6 hours she finally calmed down but her eyes were unfocused and looked very lifeless then she felt the baby in her belly move, ever so slightly and her eyes started to regain their life. She touched her belly gently and looked down on it. Then she feels movement again and she realizes that she can't break down now. She may have lost her husband but her baby has lost her father. Her baby is all that she has left now and it needs her. So she needs to be strong, for her baby. 

Jasmin: "Don't worry, little one. I won't break down. Not when I still have you." She whispers against her belly ever so gently, over and over again like she is trying to hypnotize herself. So that she can gain strangh. 

20 Days later, Jasmin is dressed in White mourning clothes at her husband's funeral. The funeral is grand as many people are attending. That is to be expected as John Fera is a famous and very popular war hero amongst both the commen folk but also among the powerful. Safe to say that over a 10000 peapole have attended most of them strangers and the others are soldiers some that have worked with him and others not. It is safe to say that the only relative who visited was her and some of his clothes frainds in the army. The servents also attended the funeral. Since he is a war hero Jasmin was not the one who took care of the funeral but the government did. They did ask her a few questions on how she wanted it to be but the rest where handled by them. They where not able to recover his body since he died from an explostion so the grave is empty. But instead they have built a large statue in his image, depicting his heroic image. The statue is built in the middle of the capital as they wanted to have is grave there to be remembered and visited by everyone and since there is no body to recover this is considered perfectly fine. 

As they listened to all the soldiers remenising about their time in the army with him it is fainely her time. Jasmin talked about some of the happiest moments between them and also about him as a person, trying her very best not to cry. Then finally she took out a bouquet of Jasmine flowers. It was his favorite since it was the flower she was named after and he even loved their smell. After that the only thing to do now was to sitt down on their knees to mourn. Jasmin sat there four about 2 hours and if she was not pregnant she would problely be there for 5 hours more but she did not do so for her baby. So she went home and the only thing on her mind now is to dedicate herself to her unborn child.

January 22 Jasmin went into labour and together with the head butler they went to the hospital. Although there is no need to go to the hospital at this day and age as there are plenty of machines that most on this planet chould afford she went anyway as she was worried if something went wrong with the equipment she doesn't have anyone who could fix it in time. So she went into the hospital so that the professional doctors chould intervene is something went wrong with the equipment. Luckely the machine did its job and everything went smoothly. The doctor went trough a health check and saw that everything was in order before they handed the baby to Jasmin. Once she got ahold of her baby what she saw was a cute baby girl with the same silver hair as her and her fathers ice blue eyes. She was worried becuse the baby did not cry but the doctors reasured her that everything is fine and that she should try to feed her which she did and the baby eat obidientley. The doctor told her that she can go home right away, but once they baby is 6 to 8 months old she needs to go back so that they can give her the 3 mandatory and are all spread between those 3 months. These vaccines all has different functions.  The first one is for strengthening the body, the second one is to help develop their intallegt and the last one is to strengthen the immune system. All these vaccis is proven to be safe and has been used for over 50 years and only 1% of the population has side affects sush as blindness and losing their sense of smell. But all these are mandatory and that is becuse the Astra Federation is a militaristic contrey all the children are given the best chance to become strong soldiers so improving their body and mind and an early age is very important. Infact all the children who doesn't have any kind of disability or sickness will all receive military education for there first 5 years of school and can then decide if the want to continue that path or not after those 5 years. Since they are 6 years old when they start training thanks to the vaccines their training is not very hard and most of the subject are not military related at all since there are those who would want to choose a different path and then they need the knowledge inoder to continue their studies in something else. So it is safe to say that only 45% of the lesson are military related.

Jasmin decided to go home but before that she told the baby girl her name wich her father came up with when he was alive. They have decided that if it was a girl then he would name it and if it was a boy she would name it. 

Jasmin: " John would be so happy that you turned out to be a girl." She smiles dotenlgy at her little girl.

Jasmin: " From now on you are Ayin Fera. Meaning Eye or source of knowledge. He was hoping that his little girl would grow up to be very wise. And i hope so to, she says as she kisses her daughters forehead. Then she went home with her butler.
