Chapter 1 Decisions made

Jasmin: " I give you 1 year if you are not back by then you will sleep in a separate room for as long you have passed the promised date." 

Hearing this John panics a little but he is out of time so all he can do now is to kiss her passionately and say goodbye. The kiss lasts for over 1 minuit and both of them are very entangled with passion knowing that it will be a long time for them to meet again. They then say goodbye and John makes his way to board the spaceship. Jasmin doesn't leave until she can no longer see his ship.

3 months later Jasmin heard the news that her husband as died in battle and the first thing she does is to rush over to her father with a mix of anger and sadness. She questions him with fury, as he was the one who sent her husband to his death. But her father only says that he died for his country and had an honorable death. Seeing that he doesn't regret his decision at all she gets even more furious and accuses him.

Jasmin: " You may be a general but you are a heatless man who dont care about anyone!"

Peirce: " My duty to my country comes before my duty to my family. Your husband is a soldier and he chose this path himself."

Hearing this Jasmin's heart broke and made her decision. She instantly calms down and stares at her father like he is her enemy, a very calm and cold stare.

Jasmin: " Oh, since you think like that I will leave this family."

Hearing this Peirce looks at her with shock but quickly hides it. 

Peirce: " Do you know what you are doing?"

Jasmin: " Yes, I dont want my child to experience just how cold-blooded her grandfather really is. So I can only leave. And dont worry, I can live perfectly well by myself as I still have the mansion and my husband bought it with our own money as well as his servants so you do not have to fanatically support me anymore. I know how much you love face, so you dont have to worry that your ex-daughter is living her life as a poor woman. As my last love for you, I won't stain your honor."

Peirce:" What about your husband's heritage? if your child is a girl then she won't be able to inherit it if you dont have my help."

Jasmin: " ... Then it will be taken by the government, my husband has separated from his biological family for 10 years now and has even written a will that they will not get anything if he dies. So it will either be handed over to her future husband or given back to the military. I have no need for my husband's military achievements. All I need is a place to live and money and I have both."

Peirce:" ... Fine then, dont regret it later, if you do then you can only beg. See if I forgive you!" He says furiously, like a commander who is disciplining disobedient soldiers.

Jasmin: " Ha, that will never happen." She says arrogantly and then storms out of the room. But before she can go back home she sees her mother Ukio standing there looking at her with shock and sadness. Her mother looks just like her only a little shorter, with different eyes and she is very chubby. Seeing her like this Jasmin starts to hesitate, but she quickly regathers her thoughts, as this is the decision she made and won't change it. 

Jasmin: " Mo... did you hear everything?" She asks gently. Hearing this her mother starts to cry and hugs her.

Ukio: " Baby, why did you have to do this?"

Jasmin: " I... I did not want to at the beginning... But you heard him right? Everything would be fine if he at least showed the tiniest hint of sadness but there is none at all. I worry if I stay then his attitude will hurt my child. I can't bear the thought of it so I can only do this. Dont worry, you and sister can visit me anytime you want."
