Jaleah sniffled and looked around before deciding to knock on the door, waiting until it opened.

She looked toward the door hearing it unlock before it swung open revealing Jahmir who stared at her in shock.

"Jaleah, what you doing here?" He asked as she stared at him. It was only now that he noticed her swollen eyes and red face, letting him know that she had been crying.

Jahmir didn't say anything else but pull her into a hug, his heart starting to hurt once he heard her broken sob.

He guided her in gaining Antonne's attention who was sitting on Jahmir couch rolling up a blunt.

"Is it? I got her killed. Me. She has a right to be mad at me, to not want me at her daughter's funeral. It was all my fault." Jaleah told him.

"Jaleah.. ain't no way you believing that shit." Jahmir said genuinely shocked. "You didn't know what was gone happen that day. You let her get in the car with you out of kindness, out of trying to move past the lil beef y'all had before. You didn't know you would get kidnapped. That shit was gone go left."

He was right and Jaleah knew that but she couldn't stop the other half of her brain from thinking otherwise.

"I had a bad feeling when we left the store. Something felt off and I should've made us wait in the store or get someone to walk us to the car—
