Lucy woke up to her alarm clock.
It was 05:00 am on a tuesday.
She got up with a groan and went to the bathroom, to brush her teeth, take a shower and get dressed.
Just like every day she put on a pair of black jeans, a large T-shirt and a black oversized hoodie.
She brushed her sholder length red hair and gave herself a once over in the mirror.
When she was satisfied with her looks she went back to her room and sat down waiting for her second alarm to go off, indicating she'd have to head out.
She used the remaining thirty minutes to let her thoughts drift.
She was soon back with Anna, the woman living in her fantasy.
Anna was a phoenix. But not just the simple fire bird depicted in myths, no in her fantasy phoenixes were born as humans.
They lived like normal humans until they died for the first time.
The second they died, their powers would awaken.
Their body would burn to ashes and they would be reborn from them.
They would gain the power to control fire, to manipulate minds, turn fully or partially into the form of a red bird.
They would gain a kind of partial immortality. Meaning that there would only be twenty-seven ways left to kill them.
In her fantasy Annie was such a creature.
She worked with a group of incredibly well trained humans.
They were traveling between what they called worlds, a closely interwoven net of universes, multiverses and realitys, which were connected by stories myths and dreams.
Their goal was to save as many lives as possible, while keeping the balance of and the connections between those worlds in tact.
Lucy closed her eyes and let her thoughts drift to Anna.

Anna was sitting cross-legged with the current leader of her warriors, Jake, and a few other of the more experienced members of the warriors and debating some current problem.
"We can't just go there and demand, they hand over their leader," Jake said.
"That is true, but we also can't accept a power hungry former warrior to use the things we tought them to become a tyrant," Anna stated.
"We could just kidnap Johann," Liam, one of the more experienced warriors offered.
"That would probably cause an uproar, and the vacuum of power might even lead to a civil-war," Dillan, one of their stratrgists refused.
"I only see two options, we can either try intimmidating him, to convince him to stop, or we can kidnapp him and replace him with a look-alike, who can be a good leader until one of them is readdy to take over without leading their people into misery," Jake stated, adding, "I'd say we take a vote."

At that moment Lucy's alarm went off and she had to come back to reality.
It was 06:00 am and she grabbed her bag and left for the bus to school, not knowing or expecting this day to change her life forever.
