Next day went quite without incident and without the sight of the freakishly handsome guy. I had actually made a friend who spoke English and had the same sensible dressing sense. Her name was Evangeline. She preferred me to call her Eva, since only her father used her full name. I liked Eva. She was brutally honest, to such an extent that it wouldn't be socially acceptable. But I didn't care since I wasn't totally into social groups here. The lectures all were very good. I thought if I could graduate from here, I could get into a good university in US. It wasn't as if I didn't like Paris. I liked Paris, it's scenery and it's people. But I missed my home. I wanted to go back there. I also didn't want to leave Aunt Meredith behind. Maybe I could take her to US with me. My father and Aunt were born and brought up in US. My uncle was from France, hence Aunt Meredith came here. My mother was Russian. Yeah it was family traits jumble puzzle. I was so deep into my thoughts that I ran into a person, not just any person the cute guy from yesterday. Embarrassingly, my books which were in my hand fell to the floor. He helped to pick them up. "Where are you going in such a hurry? ",he asked. I shook my head and replied, "I was just thinking. Sorry I collided with you,"I completed sheepishly. He just shook his head and said,"I remember I didn't catch your name last time." "It's Natalia",I said,"and yours." He said,"my name is Theodore Gramm." "Nice to meet you, Theodore." "Same here."
After my lecture, it was the lunch break. When I went to the cafeteria, I saw to my surprise Eva had saved me some space at her table. But there was no one sitting at her table all together. I grabbed my lunch and sat beside Eva. She seemed to like my company. Since she seemed to hate most of the school, I considered this as an achievement. "Hi,"she said. "Hi,"I replied. Rude or not, she was my only friend at an alien school. I looked around the cafeteria. There was Theodore sitting in a raucous and biggest group in the center of the cafeteria. He was sitting in the middle, so I thought he has to be something to be sitting there. I had to know about him. It seemed Eva was my only source of social information. "Who is he?", I asked her, seeming disinterested. She said,"that is Theodore Gramm. The most popular and handsome boy in school. He doesn't date any school girls. There is the rumor that to date him you need to be professional model." I looked at her hard. Really, professional model. Not that I had any feelings for the guy, but he seemed to be so big headed. Later while going to sleep, I thought about how good Theodore was to me and how his behavior didn't match with the description that Eva gave of him. It frustrated me that he could get to me in such a way. I made a decision of avoiding him, since I didn't want to fall into any kind of emotional fallout after my parents death. Thinking about the dress I was going to wear tommorrow, I finally fell asleep.
