The soft glow of the movie room spilled out into the hallway as Y/N followed Mr. Kei into the kitchen. Her heart raced with anticipation, and she wondered why he had singled her out from the friends gathered to watch a film. She glanced back at her boyfriend, Trent, and best friends, who seemed engrossed in the movie and unaware of her departure.
Once inside the kitchen, Mr. Kei turned to face her, his expression unreadable. The atmosphere felt tense, and Y/N couldn't help but feel a sense of apprehension settle over her.
"Is everything okay, Mr. Kei?" Y/N asked, trying to keep her voice steady despite the nervous flutter in her stomach.
Mr. Kei leaned against the counter, his gaze fixed on her with an intensity that made her squirm under his scrutiny. "Y/N, I asked you here because I wanted to have a conversation with you," he began, his tone serious yet oddly gentle.
Y/N's brows furrowed in confusion. What could Mr. Kei want to talk to her about, especially in private? The question lingered in her mind, unanswered and unsettling.
"What about Mr. Kei?" Y/N inquired, and her curiosity piqued despite her growing unease.
Mr. Kei hesitated for a moment, as if choosing his words carefully. Finally, he said, "I wanted to ask you something," his voice low and measured. "How long have you had a crush on me, Y/N?"
Y/N's eyes widened in shock at the unexpected question, her heart pounding. She felt as though the air had been knocked out of her, leaving her breathless and disoriented. How could he possibly know about her feelings for him?
