Days off for members of the Jedi Order so far and few in between that when they actually did have time all for themselves, it was cherished, even more so than credits.

A groan escaped Ahsoka's throat when she felt a familiar hand shake her shoulder. "Rise and shine, Snips!" said the most annoying voice in the galaxy, sounding far too gleeful for her taste.

She buried her face in her pillow in response.

She couldn't fake being asleep; she'd done it too many times in the past and annoyingly, Anakin had quickly learnt all her tells, so it didn't work on him anymore. The same thing went for faking being sick, and the more the young Padawan checked her (meagre) options, the more she realized she had none.

He'd cornered her the instant she'd reacted to his hand on her shoulder.

Kriffing Anakin.

Stalling for time, though? That, she could do. Ahsoka remained unresponsive, carefully schooling her features into a neutral blankness, praying that he would take the hint and leave her alone. But when did anything ever go her way?

"I know what you're doing, Ahsoka, and it's not working. Are you sure you want me to, say... tickle you out of bed?"

She jolted upright, suddenly wide awake. "No!" the girl yelped, the ghostly feeling of Anakin's fingertips against the side of her ribcage suddenly far too fresh, "I'm up."

"Good," her Master smirked back. "Get dressed, quickly. We're having a snow day."

The thought of pelting the back of her Master's head with snowballs by way of revenge was enough motivation.

0715.

Shockingly, all three of them were piling onto the ship Obi-Wan had ordered on time.

If there was one notable thing about this lineage aside from impressive battlefield feats, it was its members' ability to turn anything — and everything — into a disagreement of some sort; their dynamic was defined by incessant squabbling and petty arguments.

And for that reason, precious minutes always slipped away, one by one until someone pointed out they were going to spend more time arguing than actually doing what they were supposed to.

None of that today, thankfully.

Kenobi and his daily cup of tea were comfortably nestled into the pilot's seat, Anakin and Ahsoka were in the passenger's quarters, each with a blanket draped over them for warmth and nursing a steaming cup of hot chocolate (Coruscant mornings are really cold), and their luggage was secured in the storage compartment.

They were off, after one final check.

It was at this moment that the Togruta piped up, asking what exactly their plan was. For all she knew, they could be attempting to infiltrate a well-defended Separatist stronghold without the proper equipment (Anakin tried this once. It was not pretty.) and be walking right into Death's open arms.

"I was able to convince Masters Windu and Yoda to give us a three-day retreat from the war effort," Obi-Wan answered easily. "so I decided to book us a spontaneous trip to Hoth. Their hills are perfect for skiing and boarding, Force knows we could use a break."

"Hopefully they don't miss us too much," Anakin chimes in, the ever-so-cocky smirk on his face growing. "We're the Order's top Generals after all."

Hoth?

Ahsoka had never actually been to the planet, having only heard of its legendary slopes in her Galactic History lectures. They were said to feel never-ending; one run easily blended into another, and the view was apparently breathtaking.

She could already imagine the feel of the wind rushing towards her face as she barreled down a hill, lightly brushing her lekku as its faint howling filled her montrals. She would either be chasing her Masters downhill, or they'd be chasing her, snow in hand and ready to attack. Three days would easily pass by, and hopefully, they'd leave some of their woes behind as well. Ahsoka soon fell asleep for the remainder of the trip.

She had been right.

Before she'd even finished getting used to the feeling of her skis, Anakin was already lobbying snowballs at her. Unfortunately, with a few skillful turns on her part, she managed to shake off her pursuer, who, much to her and Obi-Wan's amusement, had not quite yet mastered the art of snowboarding.

Leaping through the air, the Force hummed in her veins as she used it to propel herself forward in a front tuck. She twisted — just in time to see Skywalker attempt the same maneuver — and watched him faceplant into the snow.

Click, went Obi-Wan's camera.

Vibrant laughter spilled from the Togruta's mouth as she relished the whipping of cold air on her face, the freedom the increasing speed presented her, and the peace it all brought.

This was only the first run among the countless to come, and she was already having the time of her life.

She hadn't felt so at ease since the war started a year ago, and she knew Anakin and Obi-Wan were the same. Both of them looked so much younger, lighter, without having to constantly carry the burden of command and loss on their shoulders.

They deserved this.

Knowing that neither of her Masters would be catching up to her anytime soon, Ahsoka slowed down, enjoying the view of the vast snow-capped mountains looming in the distance, fog hovering around its midriffs like a veil. All around her, the lush green forest seemed to extend for miles, and the occasional curious animal peeked out from behind a tree.

It was stunning, almost heavenly.

The sound of Anakin's cheering in the distance was the icing on the cake; hearing him sound so genuinely happy made her heart swell. His Force signature was positively glowing. Feeling a fond smile tug at her lips, Ahsoka's mind wandered. When was the last time he'd been so carefree?

It was truly troubling that throughout her apprenticeship so far, this was one of the only times she could remember her Master so content.

It wasn't long before Ahsoka rejoined her Masters, laughter, jokes and snowballs flying as the three of them hurtled downhill. They kept going until they were nearly on the brink of collapse, and finally, on the last chairlift ride of the day, Ahsoka let her head drop onto Anakin's shoulder.

"Let's watch cheesy holodramas in our PJs on the couch," she suggested sometime later. "Maybe order some takeout. I just wanna relax."

"I concur, my dear."

It's said that loved ones are the most important people in one's life. To Ahsoka, Anakin, and Obi-Wan though, it was the people they could snuggle up against, dressed in nothing but their most comfortable pyjamas and watch sappy holofilms with while a playful fire roared in the fireplace below that were the most cherished.

And, for once in their tumultuous lives, all was well.
