Flipped: The First Date

Chapter 1

Juli Baker:

After Bryce planted the sycamore tree, I didn't know what to feel about him. 

Was I supposed to like him because he planted the tree? Or could I just talk to him normally? Plus, I don't even think I forgive him yet. It's like he forgot what he did. Just because he planted the sycamore tree on my yard, doesn't mean I have to automatically forgive him... right?

 But wasn't what he did for me quite sweet?

  I almost started going crazy, until I heard someone yelling from downstairs. "Juli!! Someone's here for you!" My mom yelled. "Who is it?" "I think you have to see for yourself!"

 "Ugh.. okay!" I yelled back quite annoyed. Why couldn't she just tell me right now? I jumped of my bed, then walked down with heavy steps.

 I looked at the door, and it was Bryce.

 I got quite confused, because he just came here earlier to plant the sycamore tree. 

Maybe he just forgot something..??? Was he going to ask me on a date?! 

But isn't he taking things too fast? He doesn't even know if I still like him!! My thoughts started taking over me, until I saw Bryce waving his hand in front of my face.

 "Juli... Juli???" Bryce said, looking at me with a concerned face. "Oh, sorry. By the way, why are you here?" I said thinking about what he would say.

 After I said that, it seemed like he got embarrassed, for some reason. "Oh it's cause um.. I wanted to ask if you wanted to eat lunch together tomorrow?" Bryce said smiling. 

I was about to ask him why he couldn't just ask me tomorrow, ( since it was a Sunday ) but I didn't want to be rude. "Um.. sure! Is it okay that Dana will eat with us?" I asked while crossing my fingers behind my back, because it was still quite awkward with him. And plus, what would we even talk about? Him bullying my uncle?

 I couldn't forgive Bryce that easily, yet.

 "Um sure! So it will only be us three?" "Yeah!" I said happily. "Oh and is there any other reason you came here?" I asked him. "Um.. I don't think so.." he said while scratching his head. 

"Bye bye!" He said while running to his house.
