                         CHAPTER 3

“Tell me, Earah. Anong ginagawa mo sa room that time? I know you are also a table tennis player in junior high school department pero bakit ka nagpunta in time of the game of senior high? I mean, ba’t ka pa dumayo doon?” Earah, the little girl straightened her back.

She smiled sweetly, and slowly moved her gaze on me.

“Because of ate Shy, idol ko siya sa table tennis. Ever since I was a kid, mahilig na akong humawak ng paddle, at ipalumba-lumba ang table tennis ball sa aming mesa. Ilang table tennis ball na din po ang nayupi ko.” She laughed cutely. As I observed, everyone in the room is very interested on her say, except kay Scarlett, hindi ko alam kung ilang pag-irap na ang ginawa niya habang seryosong nakikinig ang lahat sa bata.

“I was in fifth grade when my ate Kim brought me here. Boyfriend niya po noon si kuya Allen, magaling din po siyang mag table tennis. Laban nila noon at isinama ako ni ate, doon ko nakita kung paano maglaro si ate Shy, she is very beautiful when she served the ball and on how she aces her serves. Sadly, kuya Allen and my ate didn’t last kaya hindi na ako nakabalik dito. Pero that doesn’t stop me po, nagsumikap ako upang matuto at matupad ang aking pangarap na makalaro si ate Shy.” I was taken aback, since then I already have a cute support. I smiled sweetly at her and she also did.

“Kaya ako napunta doon last intrams, kase po it was my first time na sumalang dito sa school and to the whole junior high school players, ako po ang nanalo. Gusto ko lang po sanang magpasalamat kay ate Shy, but hindi po ako nabigyan ng pagkakataon. Kaya baka pwede pong ngayon?” And for the second time, she smiled at me cutestly.

“Thank you po, Ate Shy! Thank you for inspiring me po!” She hugged me tighly as she utter those words. Except, Scarlett.

   I hugged her back.

“You don’t have to, it’s because of your hardwork and it just have been paid off. But, you are very welcome.” I stated softly.

“Kaya wala pong nangyaring bias, hindi po totoo ang sinabi ni ate Scarlett, hindi po totoo iyon!” Bahagyang lumakas ang pagkasabi niya noon. I giggled, silently.

“Miss Jameeson, is everything clear now? Besides, sa pagkakaalam ko, sa iyo naibigay ang pabor? So, could you explain to us the point of your post?” Scarlett remained in silent.

“Miss Jameeson?” Hindi pa rin umimik ang babae.

“I’m pretty sure you’re not a deaf, so I know na naririnig mo ako. Now miss, if gusto mong hindi bumigat ang punishment mo, better explain everything to us with a convincing thoughts.” Mister Lim consecutively stated.

“Are you threatening me?” We got shocked of how she acted. She seems proud. What a freak.

“No one’a threatening you here Miss, watch your words.” Scarlett didn’t respond, she just kept on blabbering and moving her mouth silently like an idiot.

“Insecurity.” I move my gaze onto the man who uttered those.

“No one’s bias, it was played well. It’s the insecurity and lack of acceptance of Miss Jameeson. Kahit sinong manlalaro na may ganitong katangian ay patuloy na magmamaktol kahit nawawala na sa lugar. But Miss, insecurity kills. Better be up and if you really want to be the best, do your best. Don’t just sit there, feeling pretty thinking na you can still do everything you have done in your previous school.” So, matagal na niya pala talaga itong ginagawa? Poor.
