Nehmat's pov
" Hey Nehmat " I heard Ekam as he approached me with a smile in the college campus.
" Hi Ekam " I replied
" Nehmat , actually I need your help,will you help me ? " He asked
" Yes , what is it ?" I answered
" Since you are fond of reading , you might have read many books and your assignment also might be completed till now but me being a non - reader haven't read any and moreover I didn't get time due to practice ...so mine is pending tommorow is the submission date " he explained
" Okay! So you want me to dictate you a book so that you can complete your assignment ,that too within a day " I spoke as I understood what he meant
" Yes" He said innocently
" Umm..okay! I will " I said making him smile widely
" Thank you so much Nehmat " He said
And we went towards our classroom .
Time skip
I walked out of the classroom along with Tanvi as we discussed about today's lecture .
"Shall we go , Nehmat ?" Ekam said coming towards us .
" Sure " I said as I started to go with him
" Wait! where are you guys going "? Tanvi questioned with a shocking expression .
" Is something being hidden from me "? She added looking at both of us with raised eyebrows
" There is nothing like what you are thinking " I clarified before she cooks something in that head of hers
" Yeah , I had to complete my English assignment and Nehmat is helping me with that " Ekam said
" Oh ! Okay ! " She said and we went to the library .
We issued the book and went to the garden area to find a silent place to start the story .
" Okay so let's start "I said as I began dictating the book to him .
Ekam's pov
She started with reading the book to me but I felt myself engrossed in admiring her . The way her earings touched her cheeks while she talked , the way she tuck her loose her strands when they disturbed her and the way she used hand gestures to explain ! I nodded occasionally to let her know that I was listening to what she said but in reality I found it difficult to do so .
" Um..I am sorry Ekam , I have to go now , its getting late and I will not get any cab later" I heard her say as she closed the book and got up .
" But the book is not complete yet , right" I said
" Yes , I know ! But what can I do " she spoke
" I will drop you home " I said
"Bu-"
" Please don't deny" I insisted as she was about to say something
" Okay ! but what will I get if I stay " she said with a smile
I looked at her surprisingly thinking is she the same Nehmat I met on the first day as she never freely conversed with anyone .
" Hey" She snapped her fingers infront of me to bring me out of my trance
" Yeah " I said
"Where were you lost " she asked
I shook my head . " So , answer me " she spoke
