If you could see my teardrop
What exactly would you see
If you could see my teardrop
Where exactly would you be?If you could see see my teardrop as it rolled across my cheek
Would you notice that I was humble?
Would you choose the difference between meek and weak?If you could see my teardrop would you notice the distress?
Would you see the strength of that one tear for escaping it's forever locked nest?If you could see my teardrop would you read between the lines?
Would you know I meant no trouble?
Just joy and merry finds. If you could see my teardrop would you know I love you so?
Would you know I wanted oh so badly for you to stay when your duty is always to go?If you could see my teardrop would you know for what it meant?
Would you know the truth behind the drop or simply the discomfort of all of it?If you could see my teardrop would you stop it in its tracks?
Would you know I could not get passed it until you take it back?If you could see my teardrop would you see my heart with it as well
What used to be locked away
You brought it out and caused it to swellIf you could see my teardrop would you know what needed doing
Would you know I needed wooing
Before I could contain my incessant boo hooingIf you could see my teardrop as it reached the top of my nose
Would you kiss it gently with your lips
And let me know my heart would not have to retreat to its sorrowful pitIf you could see my teardrop would you know for what I seek
Would you hold me close and keep me near
Another lonely night id never have to meetIf you could see my teardrop would you know how I felt
How I hid it from you for so long just so a burden you wouldn't have to deal with yourselfIf you could see my teardrop would you know I need you now
Would you turn around and leave me here like so many before they shook the groundA fool I was-a fool I'll be-I'll begin by crying a tear for now
A teardrop will roll it's given path
And I will sleep a restless sleep
Until the morrow when the sunlight
Sheds light on the unknown path.
